Does anyone have the new, basic Kindle Fire? The one they are selling for $49 bucks? They made a more basic, affordable tablet, and it's almost too good a price to resist.
I'm trying to decide whether to get it for DD for Christmas. You can actually buy 6 for $250 if you want to hand them out for Christmas. For a beginner tablet - that is such a great deal.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
Although I didn't have a great experience with my kindle.
I had two.
Both of them messed up.
The screen looked like an etch a sketch gone crazy.
Lines everywhere.

DD had one. I kind of don't get the point really. Most people have phones, ipads, laptops. She really didn't use it as much as I had envisioned. But, at that price, then yes that might make a nice gift.
Ever since Jeff Bezos decided to remove Confederate paraphernalia from Amazon, I support staying away from anything that is Amazon based, as the Fire is.
I would recommend, instead, a nice inexpensive Android based tablet. They can also be purchased in the $50 price range. I believe Walmart even carries a 7 inch one by RCA that has a keyboard.
