Films can be pretty grueling work. And as we've documented in the past, directors can go to insane extremes to achieve the shot they want. Sometimes, though, in the process of dialing up the intensity, filmmakers can go way too far.
We asked you to bring us the most nightmarish stories that happened behind the scenes of our favorite movies. The winner is below, but first the runners-up ...
I'm not sure why that one was picked as #1. It seems fairly tame compared to intentionally killing animals or accidently killing or maiming actors & stunt people.

Personally, I thought the director of Passion of the Christ getting struck by lightning twice and the actor once should be number one. What are the chances of getting struck by lightning again?

The odds of a person being struck twice are low, but a LOCATION or a structure (or a tree) is very different. Lighting DOES strike the same places and structures over and over.
That's why a lone building in a big, open area needs to have a good, well grounded lightning rod.
It's likely that all 3 instances of people being struck happened in the same location.
And note that lightning CAN strike from as far as 5 miles away from the cloud(s) it connects to.
That's why recreational boaters and swimmers are encouraged to get out of and away from the water at the first sign of an approaching storm.
On the other hand, maybe God was telling them to STFU and go home.
