Morning all. #1 got his cast off yesterday, but he is still restricted from activities that might put excess pressure on the break until December. So no P.E. and he has to be very careful during recess.
My mother caught the cold that my boys and I had. So I'll be leaving early to pick the boys up. I don't want it passed back to us!
FNW, did the doctor not give him a brace for his arm? Was it all scaly when the cast come off? Glad he is better.
I'm taking all of us to the doctor this afternoon. All of us have the crud. Upper respiratory thing that just won't let go.

No brace, and the arm was not scaly at all. I think it helped having the waterproof cast because we were able to wash his arm and he only wore the hard cast for 2 weeks. The doctors and staff were quite impressed with the condition of the cast when they took it off. I could hear everyone talking about how it didn't look like it ever got wet or dirty. The cast guy told everyone this is what a cast should look like when cared for properly, so #1 was real proud of himself.

Just wondering.
I had to use a brace for a while after.
But then again I had a cast on my arm for 8 weeks.
And that was back when casts were plaster and your skin usually looked like a reptile slothing off when you got it off.

Good morning everyone. It is another beautiful day here. The big tree in my front yard is dropping like crazy this week. My yard has several inches of leaves. Last year we got a huge wind storm that blew most of the leaves up against my garage door. They were wet & packed & it made it so easy to clean up. I don't think I'll get that lucky again this year.
Czech I can't believe the baby is a year old already!

this make me smile and think back to when my now 24 yoa DS was 16 and was taking a tire off the rim and the tire blew off and it split all his fingers and broke his wrist. Our ortho put a waterproof cast on it (the one I inquired if they had black as he was always working on cars etc)
any way it was just the start of summer and Ortho told DS (I heard it) that he could do any way sports etc, (he was referring to swimming, showering etc.) well my kids tube behind the boat so there was DS tubing away and the stuffing stuff under the cast got all bunched up and uncomfortable, so my DS (unbeknownst to me) cut the cast off with a hacksaw and wrapped a clean tshirt around wrist and put cast back on and his brother duct taped the heck out of it
I took him to ortho Monday and he was wide eyes, but when son reminded him he DID say water sports...that's when it came out he meant showers (UMM how is a shower a sport???) anyway they put a new one on and I only paid half prices due to confusion on SPORT!!!
I was in there last year with DD for her shoulder surgery and nurse remembered me from the cast situation LOL

Caitlyn brought me some cotton candy from the fair. It tastes like a sweet red hot.
So yummy.

Riding, it's funny you should mention a hospital nurse remembering you. That is not a good sign. LOL

LOL actually not hospital nurse :-0 the ortho's nurse
I had been in there with my oldest son when he was 16, he did some awful damage to both his knees in the accident that killed my DH, my son came home in a wheel chair, so we were there for several surgeries, but DS walks fine now. lots of work though lots..
and I guess the story about Cody's improvised cast was told around the office LOL

We were going to go to the doctor but there are a crap ton of people in the waiting room.
There is only one provider there. So it would be after 7 before we got out of there.
Good news is, none of us are dying. So we can wait til tomorrow.

I was remembered, unfortunately, at the ER when my kids were little. DS fell off the bed and ended up with three pins in his arm and a cast. Three weeks later a drunk driver hit us and DN hit the window. She got stitches in her head from mid forehead to the back of her head. I worried that CPS would come out on the broken arm. Instead they came out to find out why the drunk driver hit us. LOL

This is a good news day all around! Yesterday, my company found out that our biggest customer was not going to renew their contract for 2016. After some further negotiations, they have agreed to stay with us. If we had lost their business, that would have cut out business in half and would have resulted in a massive layoff. But for now, it looks like everyone gets to keep their job
