What do you make? Anything you have to have to make it "Christmas"?
For us,
Candied pecans. We love them.
Peppermint bark.
Dad's Italian wedding cake. It's bliss in your mouth.
Sausage balls. Mmmmm.....
And cookies!
This year I'm going to make banana split cake cookies and buckeyes.

I do not bake, and do not cook often. I do not have to have any item to really make it "Xmas". I do not have a big sweet tooth, nor a tooth for baked goods. I do not have a favorite Xmas treat. In fact, I rarely keep sweets around the house. Every once in awhile I will crave ice cream or a Cinnabon. I think the last time I had a Cinnabon was towards the end of last year and the last time I had ice cream was a few months ago. Mint Chocolate Chip.

A family member from work gave me a big box of cookies. They sat around the house, and sat and sat, taking up space.
I finally gave them to the raccoons, who really enjoyed them.
I make orange marmalade, with oranges from a neighbor's tree. I give her two containers, and she gives me all the oranges I can use.
Hand dipped chocolate & pecan pretzels - nuts from my one and only pecan tree!
Mini loaves of date nut bread - the recipe came from my mother's Camp Fire Girl's leader in 1914 - still yummy!
I make fudge and give it out to the neighbors. #1 gave me a le creuset loaf pan and some pumpkin bread mix from Williams-Sonoma, so I'll be making that one of these days. #2 gave me peppermint bark from WS. I noticed a trend. I guess they want me to bake more.
We love peppermint bark. And it's so easy to make. Can do it with a microwave.

I wish I had your will power. I have a big sweet tooth.
I haven't decided what all I'm going to make for Christmas this year. I'm thinking I'll make a pumpkin pie and probably the pumpkin apple pie I made for DH that he loved. Grandma will make her peanut butter pie - probably 2 or 3 since Uncle, Dad, and I all love it and we eat way too much of it.
I'm tempted to attempt a piecaken. We'll see how ambitious I feel as Christmas approaches.

Lol! I wish I could take credit for being strong, but it has nothing to do with will power. I just don't like most sweets, and never did, so saying no is ridiculously easy.
I had major surgery when I was about 8 months old, and there was a huge sign over my hospital crib.
I start the day with a breakfast casserole thrown together the night before. After presents are opened, we all sit down to a festive breakfast complete with mimosas. THen we veg around all day and help the boys put together their toys and play. Early dinner then my parents leave and we crash.
I'm not sure what I'm going to make this year for dinner either.
Christmas eve is usually something simple. Chili or soup or pizza.
But we make rice Krispy treats for Santa.
Yes. The kids still like doing that.
Of course now it's for fun and not for bribery so the big guy leaves the good gifts.
Christmas morning we have juice and coffee or whatever. Say our Christmas prayer as a family and then open gifts.
Then dad makes pancakes and we start putting lunch together.
After lunch we take a nap, then mom and dad go to mawmaw's. The kids and I hang out doing whatever.

I will be at your house for my piecaken!

We order a special Christmas tree coffee cake from Chicago. I usually make a casserole the night before with eggs and some other stuff. We open gifts and eat. We don't eat dinner till later.
This year I am going to try baklava. I'm also going to make plain homemade sugar cookies and roll and cut them out. And maybe some bars. I saw some yummy ones.

Sure!
I'll have to see what all it entails. It looks interesting.

Personally I think apple and peach pie inside a spice type cake would be yummy.

That might be good. Like chocolate covered cherry.

Or Black Forest cake.
That too!

I just put some Christmas bars in the oven. We shall see how they turn out.
