I need to look for some sort of winter shelter for my stray cat. It is pouring like crazy today & she is huddled into a corner of my deck.

I put a big fluffy bath sheet out on one of the patio chairs for her to snuggle down in for warmth & she won't sleep in that chair now. Which reminds me I now have a sopping wet towel out on the back porch to deal with.

No, I meant I put it out for her last week & she wouldn't sleep there. I just left it there & sort of forgot about it & now the darn thing is soaking wet.

I cannot wait for lunch. I have turkey tetrazzini that my mom made. One of my favorites.

That is what I was thinking. Also they have small igloos but I'm not sure if she'd go in the smaller opening.

Chilly Rainy day here. Perfect for soup or chili weather. Except I am at work and don't have much here to eat. I could heat up a pot pie or run to Wawa (local convenience store that has a deli).

Internship Professor finally came out for a site visit yesterday. I will finish there tomorrow so her times of visiting were limited. Tonight is class for it. One more class next week with a paper to write and that will be finished. Need to finish up the paper for the other class and I am done with my AAS!

Later this week, I will finish applying for the Bachelors program. Next week, job hunting starts.

My neighbor used the larger plastic totes that are on an angle and cut a hole out of it. Have it so the angle slopes inward \ /. She would fill with straw or hay (I forget which was better).

Don't be surprised if she doesn't use it. She already has a "home" out there somewhere.

But a warming blanket will probably be a nice change for her.

Heating pad under a pillow or blanket might entice her.

It is one of my co-workers birthdays and we managed to get all the office guys into the safety office and had candles stuck in a fresh donut and I asked him to come into there cause I needed his help...and we all burst into song! there are 3 gals (including me) and we had 6 men singing away. He actually got bright eyed and thanked us. We are truly a family here

I am pondering supper and agree a nice soup would be awesome, but no time to get a good one simmering a long time. hummm

My lunch was disappointing. She didn't put any cream in it so it was basically really thick turkey noodle soup. I don't know if she was just in a hurry to use up the leftovers or what. Oh well. It was warm & filling & I didn't have to cook it myself.

Lexxy, I don't know if people are cheap here or dog/cat houses are insanely expensive. I know they're expensive but... I've seen several people take those large plastic, the bigger the better especially for a dog, tupperware like containers that you store large items like Christmas decorations in. They put the lid on it, turn it upside down, and cut a hole in one end. Then they use something like either pvc pipe or a small pool noodle and cut three quarters of the way into it and line the whole they cut to make it smooth. I'll see if I can find a picture of it.

Thanks NJN, I just looked & they are expensive. I may just get a cheap cat carrier & take the door off. It will keep her out of the elements & if she doesn't like it I'm only out about $20. Also thanks Jlbear but I can't actually picture what you described. I don't have a creative brain.

Oh man I am NOT that handy. Maybe I'll just turn it on it's side & leave the lid off so she has 3/4 coverage. Face the open side toward the house so the wind is blocked.

Sorry jlbear! I've just seen people around town doing this for their pets. I did not know this but apparently where I live if your dog or cat lives outside you have to provide some kind of shelter for them. It's the city law/ordinance. Dog houses are expensive and it's hard to find them used. People will even steal them out of your yard. It's a big theft item. I've seen people doing this for a dog shelter.

On an interesting note: the Air Force is performing "war games" over our area.

I've been hearing the jets all afternoon.

Riding, are they in your area as well?

I heard on the news they would be flying all week over the Dakota's, Wyoming and Montana.

We are just miles from the Dakota boarder, so we are hearing the roar.

Tonight should be interesting as well.
