disclaimer:  THIS is not at all about the tragic events unfolding in San Bernadino, CA right now.  My heart and prayers go out to all involved.

I was reading the article on MSN and cut this from it, just wondered if anyone saw what jumped out at me.

The shooting in California comes less than a week after a gunman killed three people and wounded nine in a shooting rampage at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs. In October, a gunman killed nine people at a college in Oregon and in June a white gunman killed nine black churchgoers in South Carolina.

No where on the two incidents listed above at the Planned Parenthood or college shooting was the color of the SKIN of either the shooter or the victims!  STOP making it a RACE thing, it is something much much worse....beyond the color of anyone's skins

I guess my thoughts are perhaps IF WE stop glorifying it,  splashing IT all over the news, internet, magazines, then maybe the shooters will stop trying to be *famous*  and no I am so not saying that is the issue in all shootings, but many as lately it is ALL you hear about, so of course the next individual or as in this incident in CA individuals, they see it and perhaps feel it is their way of being someone or whatever, I can't find the words I mean.  BUT we must stop making it such a big deal.  Yes be there for the victims, but I can tell you as someone who lost a loved on in a tragic accident YOU really do not want it splashed all over the media and it hits you over and over.

anyway, I am not meaning to argue or anything, but this just caught my eye and made me sad that this is what the world has become

It only racist when it can be useful to someone's agenda.

I've been saying for awhile now that racism won't die until we stop giving it a voice. Murder is heinous regardless of the person's skin color. Evil comes in all shapes, sizes, and colors. Focus on the evil. Not the color.

Yup, pissed me off as well.

I agree, focus on the evil, not the skin color.

Well in that case it was the motive.

Exactly. He killed them BECAUSE they were black.

But what about the army therapist who killed. The oriental college shooter. The fact people died even if they were pink, purple, or glitter SHOULD NOT BE THE THING HIGHLIGHTED. The fact people died.
The killers all are evil and that is what should not be glamorized by the media

Some crimes ARE racially motivated. I don't see the point in denying it.

ok, but WE need to stress it, MAKE it the whole story?

I tend to see the victims of the crime, rather than justify why the person did it, and beat that to a dead horse.

maybe more time on victims....

When a crime is racially motivated, focusing on that glorifies that aspect. Even if the crime is racially motivated, DON'T say anything about race. Ignore the race aspect. That will take the wind out of the criminal's sails as he/she didn't get the attention he/she wanted. Think about it.

I don't think racism should be ignored.

Then it will never go away.

As long as you reward people for race-fueled crimes, it will continue to happen.

So Rosa Parks should have moved to the back of the bus?

Why? Is that a racially motivated crime? We are talking about race relations today not 50 years ago.

Libs LOVE to play the race card. They want bad race relations. Their goal is divide America into warring factions. By creating a lot of victims, the lib government can maintain their power because when people are busy being victims, they look to Daddy Govt to save them. It has worked and has been the ongoing strategy of the Dem party for a long time. The Dems have lost their way from JFK and more libertarian roots and now embracing fascism with their PC police and Nanny State.

Obama is all about the politics of division. The politics of dividing people. Obama WANTS people to be completely dependent on him for their daily crumb. The more chaos, unemployment we have the better it is for politicians trying to maintain power. The entire point of Obamacare is to crash the system into such a mess, that people then run to govt to cry for healthcare. Then Obama seizes control for the single payer system. He doesn't respect America nor the process of how things work here. He is using exective orders to push through whatever he wants whether or not Americans want it or not. But, maybe we do. He was elected twice, albeit by a lot of Dead Voters.

I'm not going to change your mind, chef.

I firmly believe that racism should be brought out into the light. Like abuse, it thrives in the shadows.
