2016 Resolutions?

Does anyone have any resolutions (or not) for the coming year?

Resolutions are not a part of my world.  I just roll with the changes as they happen and do what I can to survive.

I do.

I'm not going to listen to that little voice that whispers doubt.

I'm not going to give in to the same old feelings of not being good enough.

I will do something to improve myself every day.

I will live in the now.

I need to be more present. So I think I am going to stay off the Internet when my kids are awake. I just pop in usually, but it adds up. Plus I have even neglecting other hobbies because I spend all my free time on one screen or another. So that is my goal.. I just happens to coincide with the new year so I'll call it a resolution :)

Probably the presence one, like NAOW mentioned. And smile more.

Nope.

I don't believe in setting myself up for failure. So, that way, I'm always positive. :)

No New Years resolution, I just want the next 366 (leap year) days to be better than the last..

My Resolution is to not make any Resolutions. I know I can keep that one.

People change when they are ready to change, NOT because of an arbitrary date on the calendar.

I don't see anything wrong with reflecting on ways you can improve yourself each year. I mean, it's better than staying stagnant.

I like looking for something to work on or to change at the beginning of the year. But I also don't do awful, unrealistic goals either.

Yes, there is a big difference between doing something because you truly want to & doing it because you think you should.

There are some things you should do because you SHOULD do them, even when you don't want to.  Such as exercise, eating right, etc.

I gave up setting lofty goals a long time ago.

I like using the new year to stop bad habits.

If I can improve myself, even a little bit, then I become a better mother/daughter/friend.

Read this one on FB, thought it was appropriate for this thread.

Personally, my only resolution is to pick up reading again. Since I started this new job in August I have fallen out of the habit and I need to get back to some good books I have waiting.

Professionally, I actually just spent the afternoon writing up some goals for my department. Next week I am meeting with my 2 managers to get them started on the list and setting timelines. I felt so focused and organized after I wrote the list up!

I don't usually make New Year's resolutions. But, the one thing I want to work on this year is ridding my life of clutter. I hold onto some things - like my blown glass collection - because I like them but they serve no purpose and just take up space. I haven't even unpacked my blown glass collection since moving to AZ 8.5 years ago so I must not care too much about it. I have a sweet set up for small animals but after rehoming my last gerbil, I realized that I truly don't want any more caged animals as pets. Perhaps a bird someday but no rodents. So that set up will be going too.

I meant what I said on the purge thread. If I can't consume it somehow (food, gift card, stuff like that) or if it doesn't serve a purpose (like an appliance), it is not welcome in my home. There will be few exceptions. I'm sick of clutter. I'm sick of having stuff that doesn't get used. It's annoying and in my way.

That is awesome!  And a great help to the employees who will benefit. I want to back in that type of position. I may need to rethink my career goals.

This is why I so cherish my home. I have a bit of space to display keepsakes.  By no means do I want clutter and to have stuff just to display but there are pieces I have that are cherished.

I enjoyed my job with Hershey but this job is more leading a team and developing people and I love it. We have a lot of work to do and I love turning things around. It makes me happy to be a problems solver and get things done. My team is a little unfocused right now and needs clear goals. If I end up getting the interim GM position, they will need to be able to focus themselves and stay on track.

I have very few keepsakes. One is closet for doll clothes that my Grandpa made me when I was kid. That, I will hold onto forever even though it serves no purpose. It's not that big so it doesn't take up much room.

The big thing I'd love to finally get rid of is my wedding dress. Not much of a market for used wedding dresses out here. Honestly, I'd rather light it on fire but my cheap side wins out and I want some money out of it.
