I am glad this year is finally over!

It's been a long and challenging year.

DH is in heaven with all the football games. He hates when it is over. He calls it the 8 months from hell without football until the end of August.

Today is the end of year "clean up duty" day. Ugh.

Spouse is playing video games. I'm waiting for the Chinese food to be delivered, then won-ton soup for breakfast.

Helped two customers this morning. Otherwise, work is slow and quiet.

Today I am doing a few chores around the house, and then we are off to the city for a delicious dinner and our romantic night out. I feel a little bad about leaving DD home alone, but she said not to worry about it. She is all set with some Netflix she has been waiting to watch and she will cuddle with the dog all night.

We are leaving DD home tonight as well. They will be fine.

Besides, us old couples need a night out alone.

Have fun!

Took the girls out for a delicious breakfast. We then went walking and poking around the shops, lots of antique shops here. Good thing I don't have a big SUV or it would be stuffed with furniture and lamps right now!
My tubing plan for the day was dashed; DD's friend forgot her winter jacket :headdesk: and DD is to afraid of open heights she won't get on the chairlift, news to me. So I made them a deal, I am lending a fleece jacket to DD's friend so we can go hiking and then we will hit the indoor pool.

I either go visit staff members in hospitals, or I use the computer and phone to solve problems for them.

So, Yes, I'm working from home today.

Took #1 to get his allergy shots at the allergist office. He needed a refill so the first shot has to be done in their office. Then transported serum to pediatrician. DH took #2 to exchange our cable boxes for new ones. Now the boxes aren't speaking to each other so cable co. will come out tomorrow to take a look. Which means we have to stay home tomorrow. Ugh.

2015 saw me: almost get flattened by a tree branch (twice!), take my first ambulance ride, and acquire a new health issue. It also brought the first summer that I didn't get to swim. Not because I can't swim but because my ankle was in a cast the whole summer. I will say that I carefully observe the tree of death for any loose branches before passing under it. Especially on windy days.

DS is happily munching on some cashews. I think he's ate more of the bag than DH and I have.

Onward to 2016!

It's turned a little cooler. But no rain for 5-7 days.

I don't drink but I'd take some champagne. Last time I had champagne was 7 years ago at my cousin's wedding.

Need to get the house picked up and wiped down. Shouldn't take 20 minutes. Don't want to go into the new year with a messy house.

Need to redo my nails too.

IKWTDS, you know you could rent a Uhaul. I know, I'm not helping.

We have a watch night service tonight.

This year came with challenges, and we've all made it through it. Stronger, wiser, and better equipped to deal with the new year.

At this point, his sour butt might be headed for his crib to take a nap. He's got to be having a growth spurt. He's been quite the cranky boy lately.

Oh, he's on ignore. I'm on here and keeping an eye on him to make sure he doesn't get hurt or anything but he can de-sour before he gets more Mommy time.

We discovered that every time DS2 was grumpy, he was coming down with a virus. Baby Tylenol and sleep always helped him.

 You know what?

When my kids would get in that mood, you know, where nothing makes them happy and the just fuss and whine and we're generally little brats about everything, I'd give them some Tylenol and put them in a nice warm bath.

It seemed to always help.

They would play in the tub for about 30 minutes and then take a nice long nap.

I couldn't even find this thread. When I did I didn't realize it was the daily thread. Anyway, we're having apps tonight. Had a big issue with SS yesterday so DH told him he cannot go with us to see fireworks tonight. It's just going to be DH and I and DN and Sparkly. DH says we need some adult time.

Just got through with an overnight sleep study (looks like sleep apnea), then on to primary physician for my annual "Well Woman", with all the poking and prodding THAT entails. Went to take Rx to pharmacy for the shingles vaccine (yeah, its on my knee), and there were over 20 people waiting to give/pick up prescriptions. Nope. Not going to wait forever. Saturday will be soon enough. DH met me for breakfast after the sleep study - its always nice to have a date with your honey!

Stay safe, everyone. May 2016 be filled with peace, joy, success, and love!

Moma, get that vaccine ASAP.  The longer you wait, the more horrible the condition becomes.

I know. I've had 3 flare-ups of super-itchy blisters on the incision for my knee replacement. Thought it had to do with the scar tissue - never dreamed of shingles, until the Dr. looked at it today. I'll go early Saturday morning. Promise.

Do you have active shingles now?

If you do, please fill the script! The shingles will only get worse until you start the anti-viral.

My doctor told me I had to be free of a shingles outbreak for six months before they would give me the vaccine. Hope it's been six months free for you!

Good!  My mother had them, unchecked for several months, just perpetuation the situation and it was miserable.

As a shingles survivor, I agree with czech. Get the anti-viral filled stat! If you start within 3 days of outbreak, the pain and duration is much less. The sooner, the better!

And the wings are in the oven. The girls are in the game room. After eating we will go to the pool, right now it is crowded, everyone has returned from skiing, I figure they will be gone when we are ready to go back again. I am feeling so relaxed after spending a couple of hours in the pool/hottub. I could fall asleep now!
