Time to cleanse
Permalink

Has anyone ever done a cleanse? I am doing the Wild Rose herbal detox by Garden of Life. There are herbal supplements to take and a long list of foods not to eat. Basically, no flour, no pasta, no dairy, and some fruits and veg are a "no" as well. I typically don't fall for these things but a few people at work are doing it and we decided to do it together as a team bonding kind of thing. I am doing it to get some good mojo going for me in my new role. They will get a kick out of me doing it with them.

Has anyone done a cleanse before? Am I going to spend a lot of time...in the restroom like they warned me? I heard day 2-3 are heck and after that its smooth sailing.

I apologize in advance for what I might say when I am hungry. Lol

Darn it. I don't have a lot of time at work to spend in the can. And if that is truly the case, there will be some other people in there with me. I need my privacy in the toilet!!

Um, you might want to post a sign on the door too.  Letting others know about the cleanse.  And place a case of air freshener in each stall.

I did a cleanse one time.  Key word one.

Had I not needed some way to bond right now with the team, I wouldn't be doing it either. I am Italian, and we are built to eat pasta. It's in our DNA! Going 12 days without pasta and cheese is going to be rough.

I can live without pasta, no problem.

Now meat? No way. No how!wink

(I wonder if there is a bacon cleanse I could do?)biggrin

A detoxing cleanse? Detoxing from what? Will these vague substances be measured before and after the cleanse?

Do you have to buy anything?

I'm sorry, but as a medical professional, a cleansing is nonsense. Our bodies don't need it. We have a built-in cleansing system. We have kidneys, livers and lungs for that.

It's hokum. I suppose it can't hurt, so if you feel like participating in this group activity, go for it.

I wouldn't.

Well, I figured my own personal opinion wouldn't mean much, so I backed it up.

There are other ways to have a good poop.

Seems like overkill.

Again...do you have to buy anything?

No , you don't have to buy anything.  A good dose of sennosides or colace or whatnot is pretty cheap.

There's a video that goes with that guide LGS posted. Tells you all about poop. And how it should be. How often you should poop and what it should be like when you wipe and all. Very interesting.

Why are you answering for Mellow Momma?

Do you speak for her now?

Looks like she may have to invest in some herbal supplements, most of which are also an expensive scam.

On Monday, New York State’s Attorney General Eric Schneiderman instructed Target, GNC, Walgreens and Walmart to immediately cease selling a number of scam herbal supplements. An investigation revealed that best-selling supplements not only didn’t work, but were potentially dangerous, with four out of five of the products not even listing any herbs in their ingredients. Instead, the supplements contained fillers including powdered rice, houseplants and asparagus. Fraudulent products include echinacea, ginseng, St. John’s wort, garlic, ginkgo biloba and saw palmetto.

Most 5 year olds can spell "The". wink

Are u watching Rhe Bachelor?  (Your thread topic line, LGS. I'm guessing you meant, "The".)

People make typos all the time.

Usually, without being insulted for it.

Until your typing is perfect, you really shouldn't throw stones.

Just a suggestion.smile
