I hope dh finds so relief flan.
50% chance of frozen mix here, yuck. Supposed to go to Savannah today. I also have to get something notarized for some of dad's stuff. Just have to find a notary, on a Saturday.

Does your bank have a notary?
I can't believe we are missing all this winter fun...
The doctor said that DH has arthritis in his hips, in addition to the problems with his spine. Yesterday at work, he had to stand for 5 hours & he said his legs felt so wobbly he thought he was going to fall down.
Can dh get some cortisone injections?
My bank does have a notary but it's closed on Saturday. According to the website the ups store has one and then I could fax documents as well. Neighbor is a notary but I don't want anyone to know about the finances.

The notary doesn't need to know what is in the document - only that he is witnessing and attesting to your signature. Just open the document to the last page, and sign in front of him/her.

SB, Momma is right. The notary only needs to know the title of the document for logging it, they should not be reading through it.

We do, but not big enough to handle this. My strapping young man next door does and he will and has plowed for us to make a little extra college money. DH seems to think he can do it himself, but I don't know. He did the driveway last night with the boys' help, but you'd never know it by looking at it now.
My nephew lives in Tennessee and he had so much snow they couldn't get the back door open yesterday.
That has happened to me, both front and back doors. That is when garage doors come in really handy since they go up, not out. I go out the garage and shovel the front door out. But if you don't have a garage, what do you do?

I remember my first winter in WV we had a big storm in 1996 and I opened my front door and the snow was level with the back of my sofa. I did not have a snow shovel so I used a dust pan to clear a path out to the sidewalk. It looked like one of those ant farm tunnels. The owner of the development was a contractor and came in with his family and large equipment and cleared the walkways and parking lots. But in the meantime, I needed to burn off energy so there I was with my dust pan....

If it snowed a bunch here we would be stuck. There isn't a snowplow for 100 miles!

That is a classic story!

I dropped DD off with the ex. Then made a run to Goodwill, DD is still purging her clothes so lots to donate. I need to shower and go bottle my wine. It won't be ready for tasting for almost a year. I am going to use some of it in Christmas presents next year. I plan on adding other "to-go-with" items such as good cheeses, crackers, chocolate, etc. Yes I guess I started my Christmas shopping!

Snowing since 11 last night, blizzard projected until 5 a.m. tomorrow (Sunday).
When I was little, I liked snow.
DD was a bit miffed that we aren't getting the storm. I reminded her that last year it didn't really snow until Jan 28th, and didn't stop for weeks and 115".

Don't hate me.....we only got maybe 3 inches of very powdery snow. I've already been out to shovel the deck, I didn't need my dad getting any ideas. Going to drive my mom to pick up her dogs later. Our neighbor texted asking to use our tractor to plow. He seriously breaks everything he touches, and this is a new tractor he doesn't know how to use. Moms going to tell him no. Besides, A) it's Saturday, have a lazy day in and B) all of us back here (him included) drive 4-wheel drive SUVs or trucks. We can get out just fine. I told mom to tell him I'd drive him to the store if he's scared lol

I like snow. I just don't like to shovel it.
You're not going to come over this afternoon and help me shovel?
I have two plastic shovels ... (Is that enough to convince you to come over and help?)
We could make snow angels together
The only vehicles on the roads today are snow plows.
I don't see any point in shoveling when it's still snowing and the winds are35 mph, gusting to 50. Anything that gets cleared will just fill up with drifting snow and blown snow in minutes.
Tomorrow is another day.

It's been snowing here since around 11 last night.
We have a good dusting.
Roads are mostly dry even after all the rain yesterday.
Hope everyone has a great day.

It's a beautiful day here today, finally got my car washed, first time in weeks it's been nice enough.now dh and I are headed to buy new hardware for our cabinets.
I have my own shovels. I keep trying to find one I like. We also have a snow blower. DH takes your attitude of waiting until it is all done.
Snow blowers should be run every 8" you get depending one the size of the snow blower. I actually don't mind snowblowing, its the prep work, such as checking all the oil and such, and getting dressed in all the layers. Yes, 1st world problems, I know.

A Toronto woman was part-way through her lunchtime salad when something in the container moved.
It was a large grasshopper, as green as the salad leaves around it. It was alive. And for Manpreet Athwal: "that really freaks me out."
Athwal said she has no idea how the grasshopper made it into the package of Fresh Attitude pre-washed field greens that she bought at a Woodbridge, Ont., Walmart. But the idea that the insect was hiding inside a salad she served to her entire family disgusts her. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/grasshopper-salad-1.3416123
Oh, for heaven's sake! It's just a grasshopper. People eat them.
Bottled the wine, corked it, sealed it and put the labels on. I have 14 bottles in my basement. They have to sit upright for about 5 days to let the corks expand, then I have to lie them on their sides so the corks don't dry out. There was a bit left over after bottling 28 bottles so we sampled it. It is already really tasty. We were told that with this particular grape we can drink it in another 2 months. We will open on bottle, but then saving it for next year, the more aged red wine is, the better.

Enjoying a nice relaxing day off. Going to dinner at a new restaurant in town with DH's staff. They are fun people and as we are kind of insulated from the world here, it's good that we all get along and enjoy going out together. It makes it more livable for everyone.
Kind of jealous about everyone's snowfall. We haven't had a real snow storm in MN yet this year. We have had snow, but nothing that stopped traffic or made people alter their plans. Just about a foot or so at once. No biggie.

We probably have between 17-20" of snow. There are drifts that are up to 5 feet in some areas. Part of my driveway is still clear which is because of the high winds we have been having.
This was last night about an hour after it started.
This is about 3:00 this afternoon
Same time, part of our driveway and neighbors - note their cars are pretty covered and that fence is 3 feet tall
Snowpocolypse came and went here. It's just cold now.
Ya'll can keep all the snow.
I'm ready for the beach.

Fun! What kind of restaurant? I like trying new places.
