I've been emailing my favorite co-worker, who is going to have a "chat" with the boss today. I wish I had some good advice for her.

And...I'm not sure DH is feeling any better. He needs to call the doctor.

Sorry about DH!

Still snowbound here. Bobcat was on street into our development, but not sure what happened.

Nah, but we were supposed to have our house cleaned today, and #1 has allergy shots, so unless we get a miracle between now and 3:20 pm, it will set in. I understand there's a truck on the next street over right now.

Morning.

You know, looks like you could do the shots yourself.

Waiting for Charter to get here. Switching providers. It's supposed to take 2-3 hours. Why is it going to take 2-3 hours?

Rain is blowing in. But it's 50 degrees out there. I'll take it.

Have a great day yall.

I get that. But it seems like it should be.

People give themselves shots all the time.

Just think of the time you could save.

True. But they need to monitor the reaction to it. So we sit for 30 minutes afterwards and they come back out with a little ruler.

Happy Tuesday, Everyone!

I hope your husband feels better soon, flan.

I hope the snow plows get to your development today, FNW.

Lily, Charter may have to put in some cables. That would take a couple of hours, I reckon.

Not much planned for today.

I'm dragging.wink

Yeah, we can get out now. DH will take #1 to get his allergy shots. I still don't feel comfortable driving on it yet, but figure if I must, at least I can.

Glad you are finally dug out, FNW.

Flan, hope your DH gets himself to a doctor soon.

A beautiful sunny day here today. The January warm up is on it's way. We will be in the 50's on Thursday. Means snow melt and ice because the ground is froze. But, I will take it. :)

FWM, glad you are enjoying all the tennis!

So. This happened. BIL has trash-talked DH his entire life. BIL has trash-talked me both to DH and behind our backs. Last night, our friend G trash-talked BIL. Guess what happened? BIL deleted and blocked all three of us from FB and told DH he no longer has a brother. He also texted DH that he blocked DH's number on his phone and to not contact him again. Apparently, BIL can dish it but can't take it.

DH is hurt by BIL so easily cutting him out of his life. I think BIL is an azz. I told DH that BIL was looking for an excuse to drop him if trash-talking caused this much of an overreaction. For all the crap BIL has said and done over the years to DH, he sure turned sissy when it got dished back to him. He called me Jabba The Hut soon after DH and I married. All I could do was laugh because his wife is no supermodel. Um, sure, dude. Your wife is fat too. Neither SIL nor I are objectively attractive either. Neither of us would be mistaken for a supermodel. We're both fat. And I'm Jabba? Ok then! At least I wouldn't stomp out of my own birthday party in a hissy like your wife did.

 Yep. Childish. Petty, too.

The really special thing? BIL has himself convinced that DH is the one who did the deleting and blocking.

I will absolutely enjoy the peace and quiet. BIL and SIL are two of the most arrogant, self-righteous people I know. And now, I don't have to see either of them on FB. I don't see them in person since they live in WA. BIL has been rubbing me the wrong since he got his new job. He's making way more money than DH (or so he says) but has 80+ hour workweeks. Since he got the job, he has been harassing DH about getting the same job and won't respect DH telling him he is content with the job he has. DH doesn't want to work a minimum of 80 hours a week. DH has different priorities than BIL. BIL doesn't have kids. DH does and DH would rather spend time with his son than work all the time. I'm truly happy for BIL. I think it's great he's found a high-paying job. It works for him. It wouldn't work for us.

Not particularly close. Namely because BIL excelled at video games and would delight in rubbing DH's face in his victory. In the years I've known BIL, I've observed him to have a need to be right and a need to make sure he is the best. Like with his new job. BIL makes a lot of money now. Good for him. But, since he's got the job, he's been texting DH about how DH needs to get the same job so he has money. DH doesn't want his job (way too many hours and DH would rather spend time with DS than work work work). BIL doesn't get or respect that. Last night, BIL acted all wounded and said that he tried to get DH a job but DH was just sooo mean to him.

Oh, the best thing? I wasn't even a part of the trash-talking last night. Guilt by association, I guess.

I think DH will find this to be a relief. It hurts him that BIL has to rub his success in his face. DH is successful too. But, BIL refuses to give him one iota of kudos for his success just because it's different from his own.

LOL No.  It was the step mothers board.  They posed a question "Would you ever want to get revenge on the bio mom for all the crappy things she has done?"  I said that even though I THINK about it sometimes I wouldn't.  So this one woman said the way she worked out her feelings was to adopt a c0ckroach and name it after the ex.  It was harmless.  No one knew.  And it was therapeutic for her.  I think it's funny.  I'm not a fan of doing things that hurt people whether they deserve it or not.  One lady had to deal with the crazy bio mom all the time.  The bio mom was really beautiful so she sent naked pictures to the new wife to show her what her husband was missing.  The new wife posted them to a hooker site.  I think that's hilarious but I still wouldn't do it.  Could be some legal issues there.

Bwaaaah! But, gnats would be more appropriate. C0ckroaches are tenacious. BIL apparently isn't. Gnats are annoying and not tenacious.

DS earned himself an early bedtime last night. He chose to continue misbehaving and got his butt put in bed promptly at 9p. His bedtime is usually 10p. He wasn't happy about it and sang us the song of his people. He and I had a chat this morning about how misbehavior is unacceptable. Didn't sink in yet though. He lost his listening ears this morning and seems to be on track for another early bedtime. He's napping now and I'm hoping he wakes up with his listening ears back on.

My kids' bedtime was pushed back to 8. They wake up at the same time, regardless of when they go to bed, so I want them to get as much sleep as they can. Makes for a much more pleasant day.

He's always had a late bedtime. DS has never woke up at a set time. He's more of a number of hours kid. I can count on him sleeping for 9-10 hours from the time he actually falls asleep.

As he gets closer to starting school, his bedtime will have to be adjusted to a progressively earlier time so he can get enough sleep for school.

Yeah, when the boys started school, I slowly weaned them off naps, too, because I knew they wouldn't be getting one.

My friends want to show up on my doorstep, with soup and gingerale. I won't allow it. This place is like Ground Zero.

Very vicious and virulent.

Bed time was 8 for my kids.

You want to know what's funny?

They will still all go into their rooms at night about 8. Bedtime for Jesse and Aaron on school nights is 10.

But they'll often be asleep long before that.

What a great cleanse!

 So sorry you are sick.

Until I met DH, I used to have a bedtime of 9. And I was ready. Even now, I lay down and usually fall asleep way before DH wakes me around 10 to go upstairs. The boys hem and haw, but by 7:30 when it's bath time, they are ready, whether they will admit it or not.

chef, do like the lady here in town did. Adopt two c0ckroaches from the zoo and name them after your BIL and SIL.

And stomp on them?

Great googily moogily!

People really behave that way?

Like wow!

I've lived a sheltered life!wink

Yeah, I belong to a step mom board.  Again, there's a lot of drama but there's also a lot of good information.  And you can say that about any board.  Even this one.  So I really don't need a lecture on where I should be hanging out or spending my time.  But yes, there is tons of drama from some bio moms.  And I have to admit, not all the step moms are truly innocent either.

Did someone lecture? I guess I missed that one. No judgment here.
