Thank goodness! This could have ended very, very badly.
A suspected car thief in Longueuil returned the vehicle he's alleged to have stolen after realizing there was a 7-year-old child in the back seat.
LONGUEUIL – Police have arrested a 47-year-old man suspected of stealing a car from an Esso gas station in Longueuil.
It happened at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The suspect apparently jumped in the car and started driving away, but turned around after he noticed there was a seven-year-old child in the back seat.
“He came back almost to the same place and left the car in a parking lot near the gas station,” sand Tommy Lacroix with Longueuil police.
Officers arrested the man and will be meeting with him later in the day.
