It's not Thursday for me yet but when it hits, it will mark DH's and my 3 year anniversary. Three long, long years :P

Thanks, Lily and NJN :)

NJN: Yep. Three years. I can't believe it either. Seems way longer. 2013 was a big year for me. Got married in January. Had DS in December. It struck me earlier today how DS was born almost exactly 11 months after we got married. He was 1 month and 1 day old on our first anniversary.

It was a huge adjustment for me. It was hard work fitting all of DH's stuff into my apartment. Then to have to fit all the baby stuff into an already cramped space was a pain in the rear. I loved that apartment but it really was only meant for one person. Two was a stretch and three was cramped. It was a one bedroom and rather spacious for a single person. Had I had any idea I would've been getting married before the lease was up, I would've went for the large 1 bedroom rather than the small 1 bedroom. The large one bedrooms at that complex were very spacious even for three people.

I'm very thankful for the two bedroom we have now though. Especially now that DS has a lot more stuff.

The bittersweet thing about today is that it's also my Grandpa's birthday. He would've been 91 today. He asked us to get married on his birthday so we did. I didn't expect him to die so soon after though. This is our second anniversary without him. I knew eventually we'd have an anniversary without him but he was such a tough old coot that it was hard to imagine him ever dying. He went out on his own terms at least and, for that, I'm thankful.

The cough medicine knocks me out for two hours, then I'm wide awake. I've taken my book into the great room (opposite end of the house) so I don't disturb DH with my hacking. I can only take 1 tsp every 12 hours. Late January is a bummer for me.

I'm sorry about your grandpa chef. I know it must be hard. He'd want you to remember the good times though.

Momala, I'm sorry you're sick. Get to feeling better soon.

That's such a nice memory Chef.

Yep it's Thursday. So glad the w/e is coming. I want to do something fun with DD this w/e. Need to plan out her bday party, well not really party. I think she wants to have a sleepover which is not much different than any other weekend with the exception of a few more girls.

Our zoo had its first baby of the year...a male giraffe!

The mother is 18 years old & the father is 5, which makes me giggle.

It got rather warm last night.

So warm that Caitlyn got up to turn the heat down.

That's not like her at all, usually she is wrapped up like burrito.

But it's 31 and the windows on the car are iced.

Good news is, it's supposed to be in the 60s today.

Stop yawning, it's contagious!

Got up early to take the boys to the allergist for their semi-annual check-up. They're doing so well, we don't need to go back for a year. She said we can taper off allergy shots to once every 3 or 4 weeks starting in May/June. It was a good day! #1 almost slipped on ice, but I had his hand and caught him. That's all I needed was another broken bone.

Happy anniversary, chef. Your grandpa will always be with you in your memories. Momala, feel better! Good luck with the babysitting, Lindley. Czech, weekend is not far off!! I wish we'd get 60 degree weather, Lily.

Oh he would. He was the type who hated anything to change on account of him. He died 7/1/14. We had a 4th of July party planned and still had the party because that's what Grandpa would've wanted. My in laws gave me grief and told me I was disrespecting Grandpa by going ahead with the party as if nothing happened. Um, no, cancelling the party would've been disrespecting him.

Once, he was having surgery and the date coincided with one of the plays I was in. We wanted to be there for him and were promptly told to get our butts to the school and do what we were supposed to and he will be just fine in the hospital.

I hope so. I have never had one that bad that we tried to save. She was just born day before yesterday,  and we fixed up the booties this morning.  She will need new ones every couple days for a while.

It could work, dona. I wore shoes with that bar across when I was an infant because I was pigeon toed. It worked wonders. A friend of mine did not have the good fortune and remained pigeon toed all his life. One year at Halloween he came in the class wearing a mask but everyone said, "Hi Scott." He asked me if everyone knew it was him because of his feet. I told him that was possible, or because his seat was empty and they figured it out (I did not want him to feel bad). I told him about my feet and how they were corrected. He wondered why his parents did not do the same. Rather than tell him it was because his father was an alcoholic and mother abandoned him at an early age, I just said it was an experimental procedure that wasn't very well known. I felt bad for him.

Good that you are starting now.

Thanks. I saw him staggering down the street one night, too, drunk, and pulled over and gave him a ride to a friend's house where he was headed, and they made sure he spent the night. My mother had gone to school with his father so I knew his history. He was a very nice guy, but was heading down the same path as his father. He was so smart and a straight A student. I wonder what ever happened to him.
