What were your favorite books or movies as a child?

Do you remember the first movie you saw at the theater?

I loved 1967's The Jungle Book movie. It was lively and fun.

Books? I think it was a book containing all the Grimms tales. I still have it.

The first movie I remember seeing was Snow White.

It left me in awe.

Favorite book was A Wrinkle in Time. Favorite book as a small child, pre read it myself, was Fly Away at the Airshow. It's the book my grandmother used to teach me how to read.

Favorite movie was The Wizard of Oz. I remember when we had to wait for it to come on tv once a year. It was such a big deal.

First movie I saw in the theater was Star Wars. My dad said I sat on the literal edge of my seat the whole time and when it was over I turned to him and asked "are all movies like this?"

I remember waiting for The Wizard of Oz.

It was amazing when we finally got the color T.V.!

I think the first movie I saw at the theater was Pippi Longstocking. My favorite was Grease. I saw it close to a dozen times.

When I was very young my favorite book was Little Black Sambo. I could recite it. As a young child I loved Little Women, Alice In Wonderland, The Witch of Blackbird Pond & all of the Nancy Drew books.

Favorite movie "Snow White".

Favorite book as a child "Watership Down". My dad read this over and over to me until I could read it myself and boy did I learn fast.

I also loved Dr. Seuss and made up my own stories like his as a very young child.

What were your favorite books or movies as a child?
A Little Princess. For the longest time, I kept my copy of it in my purse. I would read it whenever I was in line or playing the waiting game. It was in two pieces and the cover and binding were both all but gone when I finally took it out. I also loved Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry. I found out a couple years back that it's the middle book of a trilogy so I bought and read all 3 books in order.

Movies: Mary Poppins, the Police Academy series, Sound of Music, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Major Payne ... all are still favorites. I squealed with glee when I saw Bedknobs and Broomsticks in MIL's DVD/VHS cabinet and had to watch it. I also love the movie adaptation of A Little Princess. I love Matilda but have never read the book, only saw the movie.

Do you remember the first movie you saw at the theater?
Nope.

At the ripe old age of 9, I read the book "The Family Nobody Wanted" and it left a life long impression upon me. I loved all the fairy tall books as well.

The first movie I saw at a drive-in, not a theater, was "Mary Poppins".

Read all the Zane Gray books, lots of love stories (soft smutt) as a teenager and about anything I could get my hands on from about the age of 10.

I believe it!  My mom and I used to watch Elvis and James Bond movies together.  I remember them more than anything.

I think my first movie I saw was Snow White, but it was never a favorite.

I love The Boxcar Children, and books by Caroline B. Cooney.  And I started reading Harlequins pretty early.

The first movie I remember seeing in a theatre was Bambi. I got very upset and screamed "Did They Ever Find Bambi's Mother's Bones!" My mom had to take me out.

What were your favorite books or movies as a child?
I believe my favorite book (other than the Bible) was probably The Shining. It was the first book that my parents considered for adults that I was allowed to read. Kind of weird, considering my parentheses exclusion, I know, but, it is what it is.

Do you remember the first movie you saw at the theater?
No idea what the first movie was. First one I remember having seen in a theater is "Benji", but I know I'd been to see movies before that one.

Books?
I was an avid reader, but I can't remember the titles of most of the books I read.
