Ask and ye shall receive!  Remember the rules now.  When it's your daily you have to provide refreshments and alcohol/drinks.

Good morning, world! Cat woke me up at 4:30 by prancing all over me until I got up and gave her her breakfast. Spoiled brat! At least I got another couple of hours of shut-eye.

I made it to work. I'll see how long I last. I plan on sitting at my desk in the workroom...possibly putting some "Quarantine" tape around it.

I had my near death experience for the day. I was walking down the hall and our controller came flying out of the conference room. We both stopped within inches of running into each other. I am not a big person, our controller is more than a foot taller than me and has nearly 100 pounds on me. It wouldn't have ended well for me.

Wonder if I need to fill out a near miss report? Lol

Up early today! It's shed day! It started out as a sunny day, is now raining a little bit. They have the gravel bed down for the new shed. Fortunately, they did not have to remove the old shed. Neighbor took it on Saturday. Trading out the dump truck for the one with the shed on it. And my driveway is very narrow, the truck just barely fit. Off to take pictures of the shed coming in.

Morning everyone. My alarm didn't go off this morning & I overslept. I jumped out of bed & raced through my morning routine. I ended up being 10 minutes early even after stopping to check my mail.

Got back into town on Saturday afternoon from my week's journey to my friend’s hometown to help clean and pack up her house in preparation for selling. It was a week of much drama and emotions, which put my friend in the hospital the day after she arrived. Apparently the shock of seeing her house again, knowing that she can no longer live there alone, and that it was going to be sold (to help pay for her long-term care) caused her to become very anxious, which exacerbated her breathing and other health issues. We had to rush her to the ED, and just in time, otherwise they would have had to intubate her. I spent time sitting with her at the hospital and cleaning and packing at the house. Her DS and DIL spent most of their time at the house. Emotions ran high and tempers flared and I got yelled at twice by her DS and DIL was snippy, but I let it go because it was due to stress from everything going on. It was not meant in a hurtful manner, just the process of venting all their stress and emotions about their Mom, which I totally understand.

To make things even worse, another friend in the same city who had lung cancer passed into spirit in the wee hours of Saturday morning at age 84 from lung cancer. He died at home, and all of his family and children were there. I unfortunately did not get to see him in person before he died due to being very busy at the hospital and cleaning friend’s house. Not sure yet if I will be flying back for the funeral. The family will be making arrangements, and another family friend will let me know.

Got an update on my other friend.  She is still in the hospital and looking better.  She will be seeing another doctor, after her DS got emotional and went off on the first doctor over the phone. I unfortunately was witness to that while at the hospital. Doctors say my friend is not in good enough health to travel back home, so her DS and DIL had to stay back, as they don’t want to leave her there all alone without any family to visit her. They hope she can at least be flown by air ambulance back home and be admitted into the local hospital there.

It was a hectic week. I feel a bit sad and quite tired. But I am back at work today. Also have an apartment inspection coming up. It was scheduled for today, but I explained to them that I was away , so I did not get the notice of inspection until Saturday. They will contact me next week to schedule an inspection.

I am looking forward to being at work because I need work to occupy my mind and keep me busy.

Wishing everyone a great week!

RTL, Sorry for the loss of your friend. And I hope the other recovers as best as she can.

Shed did not happen. We have a narrow driveway that leads to the back yard. That was not the problem but the Verizon wires hang too low and did not have enough slack to allow the shed down the driveway.

Now to figure out other options. Either have Verizon take down and put back up the wires, pick a different shed or get rid of azzhole neighbor who would not let them down their driveway. My vote is to take out the trashy neighbor but I don't look good in orange.

I don't understand this mentality. Sure, they don't *have* to let anyone down their driveway but if they're not actively using it, it would not harm them one bit to have let the truck use their driveway.

I'll never understand neighbors like that. I'm not particularly friendly with my neighbors but if they needed access through my property for some reason I'd let them.

Part of it is because then they would have to clean up their junk and trash. It's not like they own the place, they rent. But the landlord/owner is trying to become a county judge. I cleaned up over 100 cigarette butts from the side of my driveway where there is gravel between the concrete and fence.

And the guy there had the attitude of FU, so after a call to the township and the policy to report one abandoned car in street and two in the driveway and several other violations, we shall see what happens. I know I am not the only one to call this stuff in.

Moral of the story, don't piss of the bvtch who lives here and owns it. I will be your best friend and will give you the shirt off my back. However, if you want to play hard ball, you better wear a cup.

Ooh, look, one police officer is here already! Let's see when licensing and inspection shows up.

Now I'm annoyed. I got questioned on my over time for last week. I had 11 hours. In the last 9 months, I have gotten added duties almost equal to a second position. And they want to know why I had 11 hours of OT?? They should be asking, wow, how did you get everything done in so little time? Jerks

We let our neighbor use our upper driveway while building their house.

But they didn't stop after that. Most of the time, it's no big deal as long as dad can get his stuff in and out. But for a while, they were backing over our dogs grave at the back to get things in and out of their back yard.

They didn't have to do that, they just didn't want to mess up their own yard.

So. We planted a couple trees around Andreas grave.

Oh, I will be careful and they will have no idea who called it in on them. This was the third time that the police were here for the abandoned car in the street. L&I does annual inspections as well as random since it is a house that was converted to three small apartments.

I've said nothing about the fact that they do NOT buckle the kids in their car seats (Youngest is probably 3, oldest is 8) or the lack of supervision. I have said nothing about the trash that comes into my yard because they cannot pick up after themselves. I've said nothing about the guy living in one of the apartments who is not supposed to be there (on parole from different county and not allowed to leave that county). I've said nothing about the numerous other violations (like remodeling structure after L&I approved previous work).

All anyone would have to do is take a picture of the yard and send it in. We have lots of people who walk on our street because there is a public marina at the end of the street.

ETA This would be a one time use of their driveway.  There is absolutely no other reason for us to use it.

this reminds me of another post long long ago, in a far away forum, where someone had issues with a neighbor and it all started with a property line and some bushes. Or was it lawn mowing? Hm... if anyone remembers what I am talking about, I would LOVE to hear the update. Last I heard neighbor was trying to dispute the property line but was getting nowhere.

My boss (the president) is generally clueless to how much I do and doesn't care how much I work. He just cares that his stuff is done when he needs it. The question came from a VP, she approves my time adds basically because my boss is lacking in the paperwork area.

I did.  They told me I was a right wing hater, a hater of supermodels and their famous husbands, jealous of beauty, and jealous of all the accomplishments this one non Kardashian has done.  She is a spokesmodel for breast cancer.  I have apparently done NOTHING with my life.  I replied, "I have not changed the whole world or made people bow to my outer beauty.  I HAVE changed my little corner of the world and tried to make it a better place.  And while I am not a spokes model for breast cancer I currently know three women who survived breast cancer and are in remission.  Knowing these strong beautiful women outshines and out lasts anything any super model could do to inspire me."
