Former GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney said Thursday that the prospects for a safe future are "greatly diminished" if Donald Trump becomes the Republican nominee for president.
Speaking at the University of Utah, Romney warned a packed auditorium that any of the other GOP candidates would be a better alternative to the billionaire businessman.
"The only serious policy proposals that deal with the broad range of national challenges we confront today, come from Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and John Kasich," Romney said of Trump's GOP rivals. "One of these men should be our nominee."
Romney is charging into the increasingly divisive White House race with a verbal lashing of Donald Trump and a plea for fellow Republicans to shun the front-runner for the good of country and party.
"His is not the temperament of a stable, thoughtful leader. His imagination must not be married to real power," Romney said.
Romney branded Trump as "a phony, a fraud" whose "promises are as worthless as a degree from Trump University" in his speech.

Thursday's condemnation and counter was coming four years after the two men stood side by side in Las Vegas, with Trump saying it was a "real honor and privilege" to endorse Romney's White House bid. Accepting, Romney said it was a "delight" to have Trump on his side and praised him for ability to "understand how our economy works and to create jobs for the American people."
Panicked GOP leaders say they still have options for preventing Trump from winning the GOP nomination — just not many good ones.
Romney also said that a Trump nomination at the party's convention in Cleveland in July would enable Democrat Hillary Clinton to win the presidency. He contended that Trump "has neither the temperament nor the judgment to be president."
Public figures create profiles on FB to get their message out. If un-liked, their message goes unheard. So yeah, if enough people lose interest, he'll be affected. Laugh all you want. Social media is a powerful thing.

I don't care what the mittster has to say. His relevance has passed.
As for social media, it's true.
Make fun all you want.
But lives have been made and destroyed with social media.

This is so incredibly funny to me. All the people who like Trump like him because he supposedly goes AGAINST what the "establishment" wants. And yet people are shocked and amazed and ANGRY that the establishment is not going to back him. Or at least do everything in their power not to back him. I don't understand why people would think they would even want to back him. It makes me laugh. Did people think the RNC would just roll over and play dead and accept him? Hell no. They're going to fight for what they want too. It's like saying "We hate you but we expect you to back who we like."

You know what I find funny? People like him because he's not politically correct. He says what's on his mind.
If I said the same things here, I'd be banned in a heartbeat.
Although I do have to say I did take Eric Bolling of FOX news off my thread. Not that it means much or he'll even care. But two weeks ago he posted a completely false news announcement saying the governor of Florida had already officially endorsed Trump. People were really angry because it was totally false and the people from the governor's camp chimed in saying he had, as of yet, not endorsed anyone. FOX apologized but Bolling didn't. And still, as of yet (to my knowledge which could have changed), still hasn't endorsed anyone. Although rumor has it that he will endorse Trump. But I didn't delete him him because it will hurt him or anything else. I expect the news media to at least have some basis of truth in their news stories and not make crap up just because they personally support a candidate. If you are going to be a news reporter and just blatantly lie then I am definitely not going to listen to you as a credible source.

I don't trust one damn "establishment" Republican at this point. NOT ONE. This includes pretty much every Republican who currently holds, or has held in the last 20 years--any elective office.
They have abandoned America. They are being led around by the nose by Pelosi and Reid. There is essentially zero difference in what they do.
What they SAY they will do--yeah, there are differences--but what have they actually accomplished in the last two years with majorities in both houses of Congress? Can anyone seriously think of one important thing they've done in that time?
Balance the budget? Nope. They fall all over themselves to pass Obama's trillion dollar deficits.
Protect freedom of religion? Nope.
Defund Planned Parenthood? Nope.
Tear apart Obamacare? Nope.
Pass meaningful legislation on immigration and curtail Obama's executive orders? Nope.
Intervene in Obama's executive orders on gun control? Nope.
Intervene in the EPA's new emissions rules? Nope. (At least the Supreme Court did something there before Scalia died)
Pass legislation to keep jobs in America? Nope.
They have not passed even ONE important piece of legislation on any important Republican issue.

Well, I could agree with you--but then we'd both be wrong.
WOW the GOP powers just don't get it. They thought if they brought out Romney, who was the hopeful for many of us, they would derail Trump's campaign. All they managed to do was throw more energy at the supporters. LOLLLLLLLL They really do not get it.

Thanks Romney. You are giving lots and lots of votes to Trump. And isn't it fascinating that Rino Repos attack other repubs so viciously and not a peep about Obama or Hillary or Dem policies. Wow.

Yeah. If he had went after Obama as hard in the last election as he is going after Trump now--maybe he would have won. Loser.

Well, I could agree with you--but then we'd both be wrong.
First, they tried to force Jeb Bush down the throats of Americans. JEB FRICKIN BUSH.
They tied their horse to him for MONTHS hoping he'd get some votes.
Now, they want Rubio. What a joke. The guy is a farce. He makes Obama look presidential by comparison.
POSSIBLY, they could still hitch their wagon to Cruz--but they better do it soon, and they really need to get Rubio and Kasich to drop out of the race BEFORE the Florida and Ohio primaries.
If Trump wins Florida--and comes in second, or even third in Ohio (in a race where, say, the top three are within 10% of each other)--he will almost have too many delegates to overcome at that point.
Even if Rubio manages to take Florida (which almost no one believes will happen outside of Rubio's mom), he won't get Ohio and still won't have enough delegates to make a serious run.
