TOTALLY GEEKED!

I love flan. Some of the best I ever had was at a bus stop on the way to Baguio from Manila in the Philippines.

My Friday off! except I have to work this morning. At least it's from home.

I was told I could leave. Umm, why didn't you tell me this yesterday! Ugh! I'll stay.

Well, I'm still home!

Yesterday, I spent the day in the hospital, had a CT scan and found out I have acute diverticulitis. I had an attack at four in the morning, took myself to the doctor at 10, he promptly put me in the hospital to find out what was wrong. A shot of Toradol, a shot of Zofran, an IV antibiotic and I took myself home at 4:30. They tried to keep me, but I talked the doctor out of it. I was more afraid I had a twisted bowel, this I can live with, I think. Well, as long as I can keep the pain under control and don't develop an abscess..

Gosh, can it rain anymore on my parade?

I'm looking forward to a very quiet weekend. No stress, please.

The doctor is great. He will be keeping a close eye on me. He also knows I have a very high tolerance for pain. I am sticking to the bland diet he ordered, and limiting my activity for 5 days, also as ordered. He will frown at me if I don't.

 It's a Pitch Perfect party.  DD12 has got the schedule going.  We are painting yellow bandanas with blue fabric paint pens to look like the Barden Bella scarves, then we are having a Burrito Bar for dinner (Fat Amy gets pelted with a flying burrito), and having Orange Crush (Crushed IT!) and punch (Jiggle Juice).  The cake is a cheesecake (I'm going to finish you like a cheesecake!).  For snack we have nerds (I love you awesome nerds) and marshmallow hearts (you're all skinny, but you have fat hearts and that's what matters).  And since it's a movie party, we'll have popcorn.  

For breakfast, we're having fruit, juice, donuts and cereal - keeping it simple.  

Activities will be said bandanna coloring, watch Pitch Perfect 1, have a karaoke contest.  They will watch Pitch Perfect 2 as they are going to bed.

Sorry about your diagnosis, Czech, but it is manageable. Be sure and get a list of the foods that aggravate it, and stay away from them!

I'm decorating the house for Spring/Easter. I'm tired now.

Right. My aunt has it. I had to get the list before she stayed with me so I'd know what to cook.

 I did that last night!  I kept it simple, a few bunnies with a sign that reads "Silly Rabbit, Easter is for Jesus" on the entry table, a runner and bowl full of speckled eggs on the table, and I put the fruit in a wire egg basket.  That may be it for this year.  Although, I really want one of those bunny wreaths, like this -

ahh I am in good company, I have a wooden snowman with bells handing on the main bathroom door, that I forgot when putting things away.  HE is still there, I keep seeing him as I head out through the mudroom to leave and think "Oh when I get home I will put him away"  and get home and never look back over my shoulder and see him....until I go to leave again.  He may very well still be there til next Christmas LOL  but he is nojt really Christmassy more snowmanny

I finally took in the out door Christmas decor last w/e. The cords finally were no longer encased in ice. Last thing to put away is the whole plug thing where all gets plugged into and has the sensor. The bottom is still ice encased.

they are 1 and 2 so we will drive trucks, they will *cook* for me on their Home Depot tool bench and they have little inside 4 wheelers so they will be cruising around! and they like me to read to them, so we have some new books.

Yup, you are definitely going to have lots of fun. Makes my heart warm for you. Sweet little boy kisses and arms for hugs. Lots of snuggles and giggles. Yup, you are going to have a good time.  

flan is a custard like pudding with a caramel type sauce on it. To be exact: Flan is an open pastry or sponge cake containing a sweet or savoury filling. A typical flan of this sort is round, with shortcrust pastry, usually coated with sweet syrup. It is similar to a custard tart or a South African melktert.

NJN just called flan a round tart!!!
