I ordered my new Honda CRV. I pick it up on Wednesday! I got a few options. Body side molding, mud flaps and the all weather weathertech type mats. It's a 2016 moutain blue metallic with leather seats. The heated seat is killer and not only toasts your buns, but your lower back too.

It was kind of fun driving in my 05 Sienna. It has a big dent in the rear where my son backed into it. One of the sliding doors is broken. It sounds like crap, lol. I am sure they thought "oh brother" when i pulled in with it. lol Well, heck i wasn't about to fix it when i knew i was going to trade it in!

Need to do some laundry and cleaning today so I can start packing. Vacation in less than two weeks!

Waiting at the hospital for my blood draw. They showed me how much they estimate I'd owe after my insurance and said I would get a discount for paying now. I didn't really bring any money since I wasn't expecting to need it. Oh well. That number seemed high anyways.

We had a plumber out the other day. He fixed a small leak under the kitchen sink, and put in a new faucet.

Sadly, that didn't solve the problem.

He told me he didn't think it was the dishwasher. He thought he solved the problem with what he did.

Sadly, he was wrong.

I'm fearing we might have a slab leak. (I hope I'm wrong. That would be big bucks to fix.)

Oh well. We'll have to get another plumber out here, and figure it out. cry

I hope everyone has a good weekend.

At least our weather is nice. wink

Oh wow, a slab leak would be very costly. Hope the leak can be fixed without tearing up the cement.

DG, make a note of the price the hospital is offering for immediate payment.

Then when you have the money, tell them you'll pay that discounted price, take it or leave it.

Make sure that your insurance EOB shows a "patient responsibility" figure, and never pay more than that.

It's a good idea to never pay ANYTHING until you see that Explanation of Benefits.

FWM, what's the timing of your water leak?

Does it show up shortly after (1) running the dishwasher?

(2) After it rains?

(3) After you use the sink?

Water can come up through a slab (or a basement floor) minutes or hours after rainfall,

unless there are gutters and downspouts directing the rainwater at least 3 feet away from the base of the house.

When I bought my house, all the downspouts ran down the walls into "dry wells" that kept the water up against the basement walls.

I fixed the leak problems by cutting off the downspouts a foot above ground level, and directing the water away from the house. I also added dirt to raise the ground level up against the house so water would run away instead of toward the house.

Ugh. Long night. DH caucus'ed today. Not really sure why. They said it really wouldn't make a difference but he wants to be involved anyway. He signed up early to do it and I didn't. Woke me up early to remind me to give the dogs meds. We don't have SS this weekend. Not sure when he'll be joining us over spring break. The back of my neck is so broken out and sore. And I have to figure out something for dinner.

Went to the gun range. The place was jammed. Couldn't get near the counter to talk to anyone. I'll go back one week day evening. Hopefully it will be less busy then.

My skin allergy. I have yet another new prescription wash. My doctor is trying to keep it under control without antibiotics. I even have some break outs on my scalp under my hair. Oh well.

I have GOT to find someone to watch our dogs if we ever go away. Our local kennel won't accept them because they both take meds. I noticed a neighbor of ours has a sign up that they do sitting. I may walk over there today and talk to them.

Does your vet not have a kennel? That's where Monster stays when we go on trips.

Check other vets.

It's not any more expensive, plus if anything happens, they are already at the vet.

Yes, we have a really nice kennel. But they won't take our dogs because they are on medication. I understand they don't want to be responsible in case anything happens but it's kind of like being in daycare and not wanting to give a kid meds. So yeah, we can't leave the two pups at the kennel. And we can't let Carlee go without her anti seizures meds anymore. She hasn't had a seizure (six weeks free!) since she started the meds. She could have a massive one and well, die. They used to come every three weeks but on the Phenobarbital they seem to have gone away entirely. She has to have it. Layla gets an allergy medication. Prescription. She's fine as long as she gets it but if she doesn't she breaks out in hives and her hair starts falling out. Not exactly life and death but we don't want her to have to live like that either.

Apparently my neighbor has a business. I'm going to ask them and just see what they have to say. Our next option will be to ask our favorite vet tech at the office. We're not going anywhere right now but we're planning things in the future and there will have to be a transition for the dogs.

Oh, and no. Our vet doesn't do boarding for vacay's. Just for procedures.

Weekends are always a zoo. Everyone or most people have the weekend off and that makes for the perfect time to get some practice in. Sorry you had to miss out on practice. Hope it does work better midweek for you.

They let all the dogs mingle a lot of times.

And we are lucky cause our vet just loves him and he loves her.

They spoil him. They generally let him stay out with them all day, sitting in the window or in their laps.

I am so lucky, we have an awesome kennel here. Our lab starts whining and barking as soon as you get off the interstate because he's so excited. I'm very careful who I leave Corgi with because of his aggression issues. It was because of the owner of the kennel we figured out Corgi is just super protective of me. The owner calls Corgi his little angel and said he's never heard him bark.

The kennel here is fantastic from what I've heard. They have a heated pool for the dogs to swim in. And different rooms with age appropriate toys. It really does seem nice. I hear good things about it. But they don't take high need dogs. So I will look around. We'd leave them with DN but one, the times we're looking at she will be with us. She's graduating and we have to drive eight hours away and stay the night. Then there's her wedding. We'll be staying about four hours away for the weekend for that. So we won't be able to leave them with her. But also, she just has a tiny apartment and she already has a dog.

We kennel our dog and DD's dog together at the vet clinic. They play well together and walk well together. Our vet has never had a problem with either dog. Both dogs get super excited when they hear my van. It always amazes me that they both know I'm there before I'm there. :)

Baking HDD's birthday cake. She wants to go out for supper, so I guess...

Leveling off for now. Still has a bad night once in awhile. She got up crabby today and it's her birthday.

I'm in for the night! Getting up early to go to a jazz brunch. It is at one of my old fav haunts that I haven't been to in about 15 years in boston. They are closing. After 50+ years in business but not due to lack of business. Anyway it's the last jazz brunch before they close. They won't even take reservation anymore so we are going early to beat the rush.

HDD is happy. She did change her mind at the last minute and we ate locally. She was so full, she didn't eat any of her birthday cake! She went to bed instead.
