When you update Windows do not apply

KB3139929

At least, not yet

It has ad-ware that makes IE pester you to switch to Windows 10.

It's a legitimate security patch, but the ad-ware is rolled up into it. You can't get the patch withut the ads.

How do you get the ad-ware off.

Apparently, my computer has this ad-ware. Every time I log on it tries to get me to update to windows 10.

Mine, too. Just ignore it. Now the Windows Update symbol appears on the shut down button, telling me that it will install updates and turn off the computer. Except there are not any updates to install... Haven't figured this out yet, but have an idea it is somehow related to the Windows 10 Upgrade/Update push.....
