California Gov. Jerry Brown joked on Monday that if Republican frontrunner Donald J. Trump wins the 2016 election, the state would have to erect a wall — not on its border with Mexico, but its borders with other states.

“If Trump were ever elected, we’d have to build a wall around California to defend ourselves from the rest of this country,” he said at a dinner held in Sacramento by the California Labor Federation and State Building and Construction Trades Council of California, according to the Sacramento Bee. “By the way that is a joke,” he added. “We don’t like walls, we like bridges.”

Brown was touting the state’s economic progress, and the influx of young, talented tech workers — though the state has experienced net out-migration for decades, especially of middle-class families.

The governor blasted “old white guys” for not recognizing that their pensions depended on the influx of “young people coming into this country and into this state.”

He also mocked former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who became famous during his 14-year tenure as Texas governor for recruiting new businesses to move from California to low-tax, low-regulation, high-growth Texas.

“If I asked you who was that governor, there aren’t 50 people in this room that could even tell me his damn name,” Brown said, according to the Bee. “And people who attack California, they do become anonymous and forgotten. Rightfully so.”

THe thing is, we already have regulation passed by the House & Senate ordering that a wall be built, and appropriating funds to build it. O has just refused because it's not a cause he's interested.  He's not interested in keeping out illegal drugs and illegal aliens who are killing Americans and usurping American money. The wall was started to be built, then abandoned. So this is not new. This is not something we don't already have ordered and paid for. It's something that was enacted in 2006. We just need someone who is willing to follow through and act.

Can we put up other walls?

Like around Tennessee, the Carolinas, down around Florida and then from Mississippi. That'll get all the southern states together.

Texas needs its own wall.

All those around the great Lakes can have a wall.

The Midwest can be walled in.

 Seems high, what I have seen is 400 mil.  That included police and military assistance.

From what I have seen as aid to other 3rd world countries, a figure in the billions is about right. I am not sure what that all includes, could be cash plus other types of help.

 Perhaps you don't know, as in your statistics knowledge, that the aid is calculate not just in dollars given but in the total cost which includes in-service, i.e labor we pay for to secure their border, pork bill attachments to fund other items such as jails and plumbing infrastructure.  Those items are not easily calculated due to how the pols here hide that crap.  One thing that Trump will change.

 Perhaps you don't know, as in your statistics knowledge, that the aid is calculate not just in dollars given but in the total cost which includes in-service, i.e labor we pay for to secure their border, pork bill attachments to fund other items such as jails and plumbing infrastructure.  Those items are not easily calculated due to how the pols here hide that crap.  One thing that Trump will change.

In that case, you'll have no trouble posting ANY kind of proof that it's 34 billion.  Or anything even approaching 34 billion.

 I haven't verified the exact number, need to read the public domain budget documents, but that figure was being discussed on a radio show today.
