Ok, my new Honda has this and a couple other apps.  Never had this before.  Not sure how much it will cost to maintain it.  And, not even sure who is on it.  As you know i like talk radio, so i will have to check it out.

DH has Serius. He likes it for the talk radio too. There are different packages with different price points, I think $10, $15 or $20 a month. You would have to go to their website to see what channels come with each package.

I used to like listening to Dr Joy Brown and Dr. Laura. I like those kinds of talk radio as well, not just politics.

I do not.

Mom and dad do.

Once you get the hang of navigating it, you will like it.

But I was just saying the other day that I miss cars that didn't talk back and all you did was drive them and keep the basic maintenance up.

REO Speedwagon, Heart and Salt n Pepa are signed up.

And tons of others.

We have it in two cars. It's like $120 a year for each if you subscribe. We got it free for a year with a new vehicle purchase. We subscribed after a year on the one, not sure if we'll do the other.

I had Sirius in my car. The free subscription just expired on 2/26. I won't pay for something that is free.

Yes, it is nice to have certain stations that are geared to what you like to listen to. I have plenty of "stations" set up on my playlists on my phone. If I really wanted to, I could link up my cell service (already pay for) and play Slacker or iheartradio (free service).

This is how I feel.  I like it, but not enough to pay for it.

I have it. I go through phases. Lately, I've been listening to more conservative talk radio which is on my regular regular. But for music, I love 60's, 70's 80's 90's, even the love channel when I just want to relax on my drive home. And let's not forget 24 hour Christmas music after Thanksgiving! I also listen to the traffic/weather channel sometimes.

I like the local stations.

Been listening to them my whole life.

They play the music I like, give me traffic and weather reports and news.

Plus you get to "know" the personalities.

XM is good when driving long distances where the channels fade out.

I live in a rural  area and have to drive  long distance  a lot. With Xmas I don't  have to worry  about losing my stations.

I have over 16 gigs of music on my phone. That is all the entertainment I need for any road trip. I just plug and play!

I just have regular local radio & switch between the two country stations. I commute about 20 minutes each way so it isn't worth it to me to pay for radio.

That's part of the adventure of driving long trips.

You know what I remember from tripe growing up?

Classical music and THE REST OF THE STORY with Paul Harvey.

Those two always seemed to come through.

KZ 106, 97.3 and J103. Classic rock, classic country and Christian.

I sometimes listen to other stations but those are the main 3.

 It was races for us.

But we are into it so we liked it.

Why not?  Where else would I listen to them?  It's the only place I do listen to them.

Yall, I still have a couple 8 tracks.

Alice Cooper, Gene Simmons, and Cheech and Chong.

And then there are my cassettes.

Oh crap! I have vinyl, too.

I listen to mine at home occasionally.  I never got around to loading my CD player in the car.  My coworkers either have XM radio or use their Ipods.

Vinyl has made an unprecedented comeback.  There were only 2 vinyl pressing plants in the US just a couple of years ago.  Now, almost every release is released on vinyl (Daft Punk's latest album did more on vinyl than disc) and they are going back and re-pressing almost ALL of the Billboard hits.  All the Beatles, all the Dylan, Stones, Johnny Cash, you name it, you can get it on vinyl.  The downside is that I have to wait 6-9 months from time of master delivery to plant to having product in hand.  It doesn't seem to matter to customers at all.  They happily pre-pay, knowing it will take months.

I've been noticing that.

Personally, I think vinyl sounds the best. There is a richness to them you don't get with other forms of media.
