Her middle son is a freshman. He was sort of dating a girl at school who was, well, trouble. They didn't really go on dates, per se, but sat together at ball games, etc...
anyway, it kind of fizzled out, or he broke up, such as that may be. A short time later, there was a school dance. This girls mom went into the dance, pulled him out, made him sit in his pickup with the girl--while mom was in the back seat--so they could work things out.

Well, I could agree with you--but then we'd both be wrong.
Although, he should have not dated her in the first place.
He shouldn't have let the mother force him out of the building and into the vehicle.
Meh, that's a lot to expect from a kid who is taught to respect his elders. Plus, at first he probably didn't know what was going on. If he was a junior or senior, he probably would have told her to piss off, but he's still a little naive.

Good grief. I understand why the boy let the mother take him out of the building. He is young & she is the mother of a friend so he did as he was told.
Did his parents do anything when he told them or just let it go? My initial reaction would have been to address it with the crazy bitch but that would probably just escalate the situation.
So he's a teen in HS? Yeah I guess he wouldn't call the cops because he was likely intimidated. I would have words with her were he my kid. Like stay away from my kid crazy beeyotch

I don't think so other than telling their son to avoid both of them as much as possible.

If that were my boy, I would be calling the girls mom to let her know that if she ever pulls a stunt like that again that I would call the police and have her charged.

Yep. Let's keep the crazy between the parents and try to keep it away from the kids as much as we can.
I'd also tell the mother that because of her crazy, my son is NOT ALLOWED to date her daughter ever again. Sometimes, parents have to play the bad guy to make things easier.
