The establishment dominoes are starting to fall, and they are endorsing Cruz. Jeb just endorsed Cruz along with some other establishment candidates. So, what is the point of Kasich staying in if Romney and Jeb and the others are now getting in line behind Cruz?
He hasn't gained any ground. He's won one state. His home state. If he is there to bring in the Establishment, they are now getting behind Cruz and not him.
His theory, not mine!, is that we are moving into the northern states of NY and others where he is more liked. HE feels that he will take votes away from Trump and leave it open for a brokered/contested convention. He is under the misconception that if that happens he will come out the winner. The news is on at my house 24/7 so I hear all the interviews.
He doesn't stand a chance at anything though.

A flock of flirting flamingos is pure, passionate, pink pandemonium-a frenetic flamingle-mangle-a discordant discotheque of delirious dancing, flamboyant feathers, and flamingo lingo.
Well, because he's gaining ground, where others were losing it.
I heard he came in fourth in Arizona among the three candidates. I cannot find the portion that made up "Other" but he got 10% while other got 18%.
Then it could be early votes for candidates that dropped out.
He came in fourth behind Rubio. They counted early voting that was done before Rubio dropped out.

I think he takes more votes away from Cruz than Trump. So, not exactly sure what he is trying to accomplish. But, I am sure we can expect some shenanigans at the convention.

I think that's true LGS.

He's under some delusion that if there is a contested convention, they'll tab him.
He's nuts. A poll of Cruz and Kasich delegates has shown that Trump would get at least half of their delegates if one of them drops out. Ergo--if Cruz drops out, Trump gets half his delegates and he would win.
He might possibly also be angling for a VP slot--promising his delegates to whatever candidate
will give him the job.
I'm not so sure Trump won't have it sewn up by convention, though. Numbers are looking more favorable for him all the time. He's polling way ahead in California, so while that isn't a "winner take all" state--he's likely to get over 100 delegates from that state, alone. Throw in New York, probably Pennsylvania, New Jersey (which is a winner take all), and maybe even Wisconsin--and it's all but a done deal.

Well, I could agree with you--but then we'd both be wrong.
Yes. He is delusional. He firmly believes that if it comes to a contested convention that "he has the most experience so it's a natural conclusion the GOP would pick him". His words.

You know, I've been thinking about this. Every time I see him on tv he says the same thing over and over and over again. That his track record as a governor speaks for itself. That he has done a tremendous job in turning his state around. And that part is true. But he also goes on to say there is going to come a point where Americans are going to wake up and see that and realize that this is what they want in the White House. And I keep wanting to ask him when that is going to happen. Because clearly Americans are not voicing that opinion.
