Frisco, Texas has been shocked by the death of local mom Christine Thi Woo, who was found dead in her car Thursday after going missing for three days. Her body was found alongside her three children who were severely dehydrated.
She vanished on Monday, along with her children Lauren Woo, 5, Nathan Woo, 3, and Leah Woo, 1. Her husband Brandon said she had disappeared on an ordinary day and described her as a 'rock' and a 'lioness'.
But locals who knew the woman say she seemed 'overwhelmed' and 'depressed'.

Mystery: Christine Thi Woo (pictured, left) was found dead in her SUV in a SuperTarget parking lot at about 6:30 pm Thursday. Her children Lauren Woo, 5, Nathan Woo, 3, and Leah Woo, 1, were found alive by her side

Discovery: Pictured here is the SUV where Woo was discovered with her children. Her cause of death is unknown at this time but her body had no signs of trauma
Quynh Chau, who runs a nonprofit called The Source of Hope, told WFAA 8 that Christine Woo had recently contacted her and seemed depressed. She said the mother had promised to attend an event to help the homeless but didn’t show up.
'She cried out to us and I could hear that in the sense of her voice,' Chau told News 8 hours before SUV was found. 'I wish so much that I could do something to reach out to her.'
And an employee of Frisco music school 7 Notes said to The Dallas Morning News that she seemed 'overwhelmed'.
The Woos took their kids to 7 Notes each Saturday, where Christine would take Lauren for piano lessons while Brandon would accompany Nathan and Leah to baby and toddler classes.
'She just loved her kids,' 7 Notes director Eileen Tan said. 'The whole family was into it.'
Tan described Christine Woo's enthusiasm for Lauren's piano lessons as 'gung ho' in an interview with CBS DFW Friday.
But Tan's executive assistant, Chardé Carbonell, said that Christine Woo's enthusiasm had waned dramatically since the kids enrolled in December.
She said the mom had talked to her on the phone for weeks gathering information before enrolling the children, but the parents' visits became inconsistent, and they would ask to 'take a break' or skip lessons.
Ok. Why didn't the employees notice the car? I mean, the same car in the same spot for three days?
And was no one parking near it? No one noticed?
And why would it take 3 days to find them if the hubs knew where they might generally be?

It is policy at Target to check on any car in the lot overnight. In fact, we were not supposed to leave the lot at close if there was a car in it that we didn't recognize. We were supposed to approach if we felt safe doing so and ask anyone inside to move the car. If we didn't feel safe approaching, we were supposed to take note and call the police in the morning if it was still there. This store is going to have some explaining to do. Someone will probably lose their job over this.

If it is a 24 hour type store though, do they still do that ? If it's open all night, wouldn't there always be cars there? You would think someone would notice kids crying in a locked car.
Christine Thi Woo, the local mother whose body was found in her SUV Thursday alongside her three-still living children after she vanished Monday, bought sleeping pills as one of her last acts, CBS reported.
Well, i mean what sleeping pills can you buy over the counter? Benadryl and Nyquil is unlikely to kill you in an overdose. Not saying it can't be done but it is pretty hard to kill yourself with over the counter meds.
Yes, our Walmart is 24 hrs. And, there is a McDs and other stores around it. I don't think anyone would really notice if a car had been there. And, depending on the car, if it had really dark tinted windows, you wouldn't know a kid was in there. But, I would think that the husband and police would go and check every possible place she might have been,
I think it would be very hard to grow up without your mother. I can't imagine that. And, we have very real mental health issues here that we sweep under the rug. People are desperate and where can they go for help?
A Super Target though is going to be a standalone and they are NOT open 24 hours. And it is required of them to do a parking lot sweep at close and again upon arrival in the morning. But I only worked for the company. What could I possibly know.

Well, seeing that I shop at 2 different Supertargets and neither of them are standalone, I would have to say you dont know as much as you think you do...

Ok. I mean I don't know that and you said that is the policy so of course they should look into this and see why this was missed. I would assume they have cameras of the lot as well. 3 days without water is lucky these little kids didnt die of dehydration.

But I do know the policy of the store. It's in all the training materials for managers. You do a parking lot sweep at open and at close. And you report to the police any car that has not moved in a day.

There are places to go, obviously, BUT, as has been evidenced on this board, there is still a stigma attached to mental illness.

That's really interesting. I have been to over 50 Super Targets. Every one is a stand alone because they are so massive and their parks lots are so massive that there is no way another store could even be attached. But I believe you. It's just interesting because in the training materials and in the corporate strategy they are all labeled as stand alone. Regardless they are not open 24 hours.

The Super Target I frequent the most is in a strip mall with other stand alone businesses in the parking lot. There is a Kohls, a Ross, Kirklands, Electronic Express, Walgreens, OCharlies, Buffalo Wild Wings, Olive Garden, Chick fil a, and a 24 hour Kroger, just to name a few. There is no way to tell which cars are Target Cars.

I believe you. I cant post the maps link on my phone, but the ones I go to are in Spring Hill, TN and Smyrna, TN. Both are part of a shopping/entertainment complex...

There are only 4 Super Targets in all of Tennessee. So you must live in some vortex of awesomeness. Lol.
It is actually very very clear to the employees which parking lot is theirs. It is often branded. There are distinct boundaries that all employees know. You are required to check the cars in your area before leaving. It may not appear easy to the average person to tell which part of the lot belongs to which store. But the company is responsible for a portion of the lot. That is what they must check. One good indicator is the cart corrals. They are branded and typically denote the boundaries of the lot. If there is no Target cart corral there, it doesn't belong to Target.

Lol! I do live in a vortex of awesomeness! I live about 10 minutes from the Spring Hill one, and DD lives in Smyrna.

That's what I think. If I didn't know where my spouse and kids were for three days I'd have called the police on day one. DH and I recently watched a show where this ladies daughter went missing for 21 days before she decided to call the police. We thought that was crazy. DN calls us every single day on her afternoon break. If, for some reason, she doesn't call in a day or two we call her. I just can't imagine waiting that long to call the police.

Right?! My DD who lives in NYC texts me everyday. If it's night and I haven't heard from her, I check to see if she has posted to social media recently. If she hasn't I text her and she texts me back. I couldn't go 2-3 days. That's insanity.

Yeah, in this day and age there's no reason not to stay in touch.

Yeah. I have a feeling this husband is going to be arrested soon. He seems really unconcerned that his wife and kids were missing. Wouldn't you get worried when they didn't show up at the normal time?

Uh, yes? No kidding. My immediate? I talk to my kids every day. When DH works he calls every day. We talk to SS every day. If they miss a day I figure they're busy. If they miss two days I'm calling.

Sominex, Unisom, Sleep-eze, Nytol, Mid-Nite
Those are all just Benadryl.
Yes, benadryl or assorted cold medicines. Nyquil is 10% alcohol. It would be pretty hard to OD on those. I mean, it can be done. People have killed themselves with Tylenol. Just seems odd she would attempt a suicide where she would likely be found in a very public, busy lot with kids in the car. But, stranger things have happened.
I just can't believe if an alert was put out on a missing woman and 3 kids that no one would find the car for 3 days. I mean, I believe it b/c it happened, but what the hell kind of police do they have. I mean - the car there OVERNIGHT should have been noticeable to patrolling police, especially if they were looking for it as they should have been.

I would think the spouse would have SOME idea of where she usually shops. I mean, couldn't have just gotten online and looked at her credit card activity? Most people use credit nowadays. But, even if she used cash, i am sure my husband would have some idea to check places like Walmart, Sears, JCP's , the local grocery store, etc where i usually shop.

He might not have thought of it - but the police should have. What were the police doing to look for them?

First of all--how did it take from Monday thru Thursday to find the car? That seems like an absurd amount of time if people are actively looking for the vehicle. It's not like it was parked on some out of they way lane.
Second--it will be interesting to find out how she died. Maybe it was natural causes. Even young people can die from heart attacks, strokes, aneurysms, a blood clot, complications from diabetes or something. It happens.
If she did try to off herself, it's a shame she didn't drop the kids off somewhere--or at least leave them at home.

The poor kids :( I'm glad it wasn't right in the middle of summer. Those kids would not have survived the Texas heat for very long. They still have a long road ahead of them.
How is that NOT a supremely selfish act? Not only leaving the kids without a mother, but putting them in a position where harm or worse could have happened.
