Just a light drizzle now but thunderstorms with torrential rain called for later. Happy Friday Eve everyone!

Those storms rolled through here last night. Lots of wind and lightening.

But it was great for sleeping.

Today's to do list:
1. Take 5 bags of trash off. It's not just trash, it's things from the purge we had yesterday.
2. Take 9 bags to the Salvation Army.
3. Grab a biscuit.
4. Go to grocery store.
5. Drop Caitlyn off at church for the women's retreat.
6. Come back home and either take a nap or work on the stuff in the attic.

Happy Thursday ya'll!

A good rain going on now. The new plants need it, so I'm happy. Might need to drain the pool a bit. Level is getting high.

Lexxy,

I am going to pick up Shift on my way to work, so I'll start listening!

And I think you'll enjoy the latest Survivor.

Yay!  I'm about 3/4 finished.

I'll get caught up on Survivor maybe tonight or maybe over the weekend.  Last week's was sort of disappointing since it was a medical elimination.

I agree that this season is not holding my interest very well.

It is hard to put down.  I read about 200 pages on Sunday.

Did you ever get back to watching Castle?  I liked this week's episode.  It was Esposito-centric.

Ahh, good to see you all again.

Sorry about the abrupt end to my post yesterday. Boy, when things erupt around here, they erupt.

Anyway, bought another two weeks before court papers are due. They forgot to send two pieces of vital information. Gosh, are we surprised yet?

Everything is done, except for those two pieces of paper. So, it sits.

Who let the wind hit so hard? Gosh, the house has rattled since yesterday afternoon!

Flan, are you feeling better? Did you get to a doctor? If not, WHY NOT?

IKWTDS, during my down time, I have that quilt almost half done, thanks to you. It will be gorgeous!

Heading to DS's tomorrow for four days. Need my toddler fix. :)

Hope you are all having a great day, it is Thursday and only one more day until the weekend!

I still have one more episode from before the break. I saw a story yesterday about shows that were in danger of being cancelled...Guess what was included...

1. No.

2. No.

3. Because...

I did call my doctor to see if he had any appointments for tomorrow. Nope.

And I got into it with DH. He informed me that I COUGHED ON HIM twice last night.

Hope the weather cooperates for your trip, Czech. You deserve some time away.

Thanks, flan. I do need a break away. Everything is arranged for DH and HDD while I am gone. Logistics around here are a nightmare sometimes.

I think you really, really need to get to a doctor. Now do it.

My co-worker is sick & I have a program tonight.

My choice is a walk-in clinic near our house. We've had mixed results with them.

p.s. I tell you, when you reach a certain age, all Hell breaks loose...LOL

How old are you, flan, if I may ask. A general age span is fine. I ask because my mother has been pressuring me to see the doctor, when I feel fine, and I'm not on any meds. Nor do I want to start.

Why would your mom do that? I'm assuming you get regular physicals.

Let's see...I'm older than 50, but younger than Czech! LOL

I always thought that, once you had a cold virus, you were immune to THAT specific germ. So either I've caught about 4 different colds this winter...And working with kids, that IS a possibility.

Yes, I am 61 years old, but I have 1 med. Yes, that is unusual for my age. Baby boomers are notorious for using a lot of medications. I avoid them like the plague.

Flan, there are over 200 separate cold virus's identified. Technically you can endure four colds a year for 50 years, or two colds a year for 100 years. biggrin

FNW, if you are over the age of 50, please get a physical for a base line. smile Then go with what your doctor advises.

 Heifer! LOL

I keep trying to tel DH that no doctor can give me something for a virus.

He's acting like I don't care if he gets sick.

And HE is the one who gets a flu shot every year.

A virus typically takes 7 to 14 days to run it's course, after that it has triggered a bacterial infection most likely. Then you do need to go to the doctor.

The flu shot does nothing to stop a cold virus. It's called a flu shot for a reason.. biggrin

Your DH has struggled this year as well, if I remember right. Yup, you are both getting old. wink

I do get annual check ups for my nether regions, and I'm due for one soon.  It's been over a year since I had a mammo, too.   But's been a few years since I've had a physical.  Probably 3 or 4 years.  Everything looked good.  I am 52.

It's days like this I just want to sit in the sun and soak in the rays.

It's 63, a real feel of 71.

There is enough wind moving to keep you comfortable.

I got all my morning chores done. I need a nap.

FNW, your mom is probably thinking about her health and wants you to stay healthy.

I go once a year for a heart check. I actually have a heart echo scheduled tomorrow.

I'm on 2 meds I have been taking since 2006 and will take them the rest of my life.

But, it's a small inconvenience compared to the alternative.

Czech, how would we go about placing an order for one of your quilts?

No kidding, that sounds great! I love proofreading. One of my English classes required that you submit your papers to be read by other students, we each had to do at least two, but if there were any extra I always did them for fun.

Wow!  I would love to do that for a living.  I even found one mistake in the book I am currently reading.  I usually find one or two.  Then there are the books I want to red pen & send back to the editor with a nasty note.

Thanks. I kind of fell into it.

One of my patients has a daughter in law who is an author. She gave me her book to read, and it was full of mistakes.

She already had a proof reader go through it. She was able to send it for the second printing error-free.

She had me do her second book and recommended me to her editor, who passed my name on.

Carlee is so much better today! Yeah! DH has gone fishing. I have the house to myself. I'm going to get caught up on some of my TV shows. I've had muscle spasms in my leg since yesterday that won't go away. It's annoying me.

flan, I'm ordering my SS the book Stiff. Ever heard of it?

Oh, I'm so glad she's doing better.

Sorry about the muscle spasms. It would be nice to have just one day that isn't full of crap, wouldn't it?

Have you tried magnesium supplements?

It sure would!  I have a muscle relaxer for it.  Because of all the surgeries I just have spasms sometimes.  The doctor gave me a PRN muscle relaxer.  Up until yesterday I don't think I'd taken one in two months.  I don't know if magnesium would help.

Thanks Czech.  She's such a sweet dog.  We adore her.

DH has the same problem. He drinks one glass of tonic water on ice every evening now. It seems to be helping him right now.

NJN, I endure muscle spasms in my ribs a lot. If a virus settles there, I have to use muscle relaxers as well. Otherwise I can't breath or sleep. The darn things knock me out though, so I rarely use them. I have to be to the point of gasping for air before I will take one of those pills.

Yes, but I've never read it. (You do mean the one about cadavers?)

DH has tried tonic water, mustard, potassium supplements...The only thing that works for him is Powerade Zero.

I'm not sure why they are acting up.  Could be the weather.  We go from hot to cold to rainy to dry in less than a minute.  I felt sorry for DH last night though.  I could not keep my leg still.  I've been maxing out the muscle spasm medicine yesterday and today.  Blah.  I usually don't take them at all.  I'm like you.  It has to be horrible.

Yep.  That's the one!  It's so fascinating!  My SS is going to love it.
