Rainy weekend here. Dreary. Boys had Sunday school, and now are with DH having lunch and shopping for Mother's Day presents. I'm watching the plants get watered by Mother Nature.

The sun is shining, finally, after 10 days of dreary rain. The farm ponds are full. The fields are flooding and the creeks are out of their banks. And today is the first of May! Yay!

Couldn't go to Church today. DS got sick on Friday and was still feverish yesterday. I don't want to infect his Sunday School class so I kept him home. His fever seems to have broken and hopefully it will stay broken.

DH is going to have a lot of fun after breakfast. I spent 3 hours awhile back organizing the sink area in our bathroom. Medicine cabinet, counter, and cabinets all perfectly organized. DH destroyed it in no time flat because he's incapable of putting stuff back. So, today he will be the one doing the labor while I direct him. He tends to gain an appreciation for things if he actually does them so, yep, he's going to have SO much fun!

I promised DS yesterday that he could shred papers so I'll let him do that while DH is restoring my beautiful organization of our sink area.

Today is my mother's birthday. I am undertaking an ambition menu: parmesan panko baked chicken, roasted rosemary potatoes, sautéed garlic green beans and homemade carrot cake.

I thought I saw Talladega on yesterday? Maybe it was heat races?

I don't really follow racing. We used to watch the Indy 500 growing up, and I went a few times with my father to the drag races. My brother wasn't interested nor was my mother and he didn't want to go alone. I pretended to be interested. He used to get pit passes from one of his customers.

Dad did demolition derby and cousin raced. They were a team.

I played in the pits with Davy Allison as children.

I love speed. Can watch any race.
