I think Trump will choose someone with political experience. Rubio or Christie perhaps. Hillary, she will not choose a woman. I think she might want to find someone younger who brings some energy.

Trump needs a female running mate. It would soften him up a bit. Thankfully our governor has said she's not interested. I don't like her very much.

Hillary will pick Biden. Or Obama. Or her loser husband.

Trump....not sure. Maybe the governor of Arizona?

Actually, Hillary may pick Deval Patrick, former Gov of Mass

My mother and I had a rare political discussion today. She and I both agree Hillary and Trump are sucky choices, but disagreed on who we would vote for. She thinks Trump is such a jerk that she'd vote for Hillary just b/c she's a woman, and I think Hillary is such a dishonest, horrid hag that I'd have to vote for Trump. We both understand each other's opinions. However.....I told her one of the main reasons I'll vote for Trump over Hillary is that he knows how to hire good people. He's a arrogant businessman, not an arrogant politician - he knows the value of choosing good employees to actually do the jobs that need to get done.   That made her stop and think.

Hillary will pick a VP that won't threaten her. Trump will pick a VP that is useful.

This will never happen, but, if Trump truly wanted to win in a landslide....

...I'd pick Sanders. It would make the Republican establishment apoplectic, but how much does the VP really do, anyway?

If I were Hilary--I'd pick Bill. People hate Hilary, but everyone loves Bill.

The VPs only real job is to be ready to step in to the Presidency in the event something happens to the President. Bill can't b/c of term limits, and Sanders is too damn old to be anyone's back-up; he's the one that needs a back-up.

I wanted Chris Christie for President but he would make a good Vice President for Trump as well.

Bill can be vice-president, and he could serve two years if something happened to Hilary.

Totally agree LL.  Hopefully it was food for thought for your mom & one less vote for Hilary.

It's an interesting legal question - one never tested, but since he's already been elected twice, it does not look like he would be eligible for those 2 years.  And what if she were to die one year in?  And would you really want a grieving widower to have to immediately have to take over the presidency?

Nope.  Terrible idea even if it was legal.

The relevant section of the 22nd Amendment relating to presidential term limits reads:

"No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of President more than once."

I just don't like him.  He reminds me of those Taft cartoons.

I don't see how it would be illegal.  He wouldn't be elected to the office of president more than twice.

If she dies a year in, he would have two years to serve and then resign.

Did you know that Ford was never elected as either Vice President or President. He's the only one...

Sure. He was appointed vice-president after Agnew resigned due to a scandal and then lost to Carter.

Well, being even near that whole debacle made him un-electable.  It's not like now, where a known liar and criminal is winning the Democratic primary and is actually a serious contender for President.

Back then - they actually wanted ethics in the White House.

I went to pay my respects to Ford when he was lying in wait at the Capitol. I tripped walking in to the rotunda where the casket lay. I thought it was ironic, given his propensity to trip.

What Nixon did had existentially zero effect.  He would have won the election, anyway.  It PALES in comparison to the unethical and criminal behavior and activities of Hilary.
