Oh my goodness. It is so cold in my office. First thing I did when I got here was put on my sweater. Now I just pulled out my blanket. The guy in the office next to me is right, the menopausal women are going to freeze the rest of us to death.

That is SO wrong. I never made anyone else suffer when I had hot flashes.

Can you mention the power they are wasting by keeping the office so cold?

So Sonny just had his annual. He is 5YO. Vet said his teeth and gums look good but there is tartar and gingivitis. As much as I would like to think I keep great care of him, brushing his teeth daily just is not reality for me. The cost for a deep cleaning is $468. They have to sedate him. I know doing this will help him keep his teeth longer and healthier and probably save money down the road. Anyone have this done for their pet?

I've never worked in an office where I did not need a portable heater, until my current job where I have my own a/c / furnace unit in my office.

What are you going to do?  Pick up the phone and call a general contractor?

I had Corgi's teeth cleaned when he was about that age. He had to have surgery on his ACL, so the vet suggested cleaning his teeth while he was already under. The actual cleaning cost like $50, the rest is all the testing and sedation.

I am kind! That's why I have on a sweater and sit under a blanket without a peep. I figure its easier for me to pull out the blanket than it would be for them to try to cool down.

From what I have seen, it truly doesn't occur to them how cold it is. They think it feels "normal". I went through this with my mom too. I'll survive. Plus, I have a cute super soft Minions blanket.

I did twice for my cat.  He had tartar build up.  I would recommend it because Sonny can't tell you when he has a toothache later down the road.  You will only know his teeth are bad when it is too late to do anything but pull them.

I am dreading Summer because my A/C cannot get my house any cooler than 70.  There is just too much solar load & my A/C is getting older.  A few summers ago I bought a tower fan that I call my hot flash fan.

DS and I have a list of errands to run between today and tomorrow. Hopefully the busybodies in my area all stay home. DS banged the left side of his forehead pretty good Wednesday morning and it's swollen and bruised real good. The Church childcare people are going to have a heart attack with this boy. It's not the first time he's managed to injure himself while playing during childcare time. Any bets I'll get people silently or vocally judging me as DS and I are running errands?

I'm calling CPS.  You are obviously abusing him because no 2 yo boy should ever have bruises.

I'm pretty sure I put one of my vet's children through college over the years.  But I am also grateful that he healed them when they were sick or injured.

LOL! I only laugh because my FIL thinks bruises only ever result out of negligence.

It's not like he has a mind of his own and no sense of danger. Kid sees steps as a opportunity for another bruise. He does not stop moving. He will throw a leg up when he gets close to the step and hope for the best. Sometimes, he does manage to get up on the step. Other times, he bangs into the step and adds another bruise to his collection. His legs have been dotted with bruises ever since he learned he could run. Sometimes, he'll trip over his own feet and go sliding across the ground resulting in a bloody knee. But, he's a tough boy and bounces back real quick. Even this current injury isn't stopping him. It looks horrible but he's running and playing per the usual.

 Now that's funny!

And you're right,  I'm glad they are there and my vet does a great job.  I still feel my wallet shrivel up in fear though :p

I need to do this for my chihuahua as soon as I catch up.  I know people who do it once a year for their pets but I think that's a little extreme

I only did it when the vet recommended it. I also got his claws clipped while he was under. He didn't go outside so he didn't wear down his claws like the others. And like brushing his teeth, clipping his claws was just not happening for us.

LOL Lexy.  When DS was about 2.5 he had to go to the ER for a fish hook through his finger (long story) anyway they demanded to know where all the bruises on his chins came from, I said he is 2, that's where.  It really PMO.

Sleeping in was amazing!

And now I've already got so much done all I have to do is make dinner.

I am hot natured, I stay hot. When a flash hits, it feels like I will burst into flames and sometimes I get physically sick and feel like I will pass out . It isn't something that can be controlled by will power.

Tig, I'm so happy for you!

Who knew cleaning a dog's teeth would be so much?

FWM, don't run yourself ragged so much that you can't enjoy this time. Blessings to your family.

Chef, when Caitlyn was about 2 & 1/2, she fell down the front steps. She had four scrapes from her forehead to her chin and bruised. I got looks, comments and snark. Anyone says anything, say "toddler fight club, he won!" Hehe...

Hope everyone is having a great day.

My brother went to the ER at least once a year until he was 21 I think.  Seriously when he was little he was there at least once if not twice a year.  Thank goodness it was the 70s & nobody thought twice about it.

 No kidding!

I still had stitches in my arm when I broke it!

Was still in a cast for my arm when I sprained my ankle really bad and had to use crutches.

Geez, how did we survive?

It's a wonder isn't it?  In the summer our parents had no idea where we were all day when we took off on our bikes & no cell phones or GPS.  Somehow we all managed to make it home for dinner every night.

What does that even mean?

I have no clue. I was waiting at the counter to ask about an herbal supplement & they had a display.

I'm assuming that it did not have the harmful additives that most polish does.

Nope it was $5.00 a bottle, less than Essie or Opi. There was a story not too long ago about the chemicals in polish being absorbed through the nail into the body.

I would think it would mean no animal testing or animal by-products in the polish.
