Sounds like a plan. Reminded me of the Sock Hops we used to have in high school in the gym after basketball games. Suppose those are a thing of the past, too....
Karl, the schools here have dances after games. Usually in the Commons area or cafeteria.
IKWTDS, I am glad you are feeling better.
Trudy, if you can't see the eyelash, it might be a small cut on the eye. Like a papercut on your finger, it'll drive you nuts. Good news, the eye is the fastest healing organ in a body. Either way, crying is helping.
Hi Ed and FWM!

And I got this email from one of my boys's teacher that I thought I would share:
Dear Parents,
I give you back your child, the same child you confidently entrusted to my care last fall. I give them back pounds heavier, inches taller, and months wiser. Although they would’ve attained their growth in spite of me, it has been an absolute joy and privilege to watch their personalities unfold day by day. I give them back reluctantly; we have grown close and become a part of each other having spent nine months together in the narrow confines of a small classroom.
If we met on the street ten years from now, your child and I will have a shine in our eyes and smile to our face, for we shall feel the bond of understanding once more—a most special bond we’ve nurtured this past year and share today. We have lived, loved, laughed, played, studied, learned, and enriched our lives together this year. I wish it could go on indefinitely, but give them back I must. Remember that I shall always be interested in your child and his or her destiny--wherever they go, whatever they do, the stars they will become. I have enclosed a small gift for each child in his or her report card, which will go home on their last day of school. Please read it with them and encourage them to keep in touch. Have a wonderful and safe summer. :o)
DD's 2nd birthday is today! We are not doing much celebrating today, the party is on Saturday and neither her or I are feeling great. If DH gets back in time (and isn't too tired) we are going to take the kids to the Drive In to see Finding Dory.
Yes, she is his favorite teacher so far. #2's favorite was the one he had last year. He still visits her each morning and gives her a hug before going on to his classroom.

I didn't remember her exact birthday but I knew it was at the end of June. I went to California to visit a friend & found out you had her when I got back home.

I hope you both feel better!
Happy birthday to your DD! I can't believe she's 2 already!

2? Goodness.
Seems like just yesterday.

I can't believe how fast the Geek kids are growing up. DS will be 3 in December.
So far today has been productive. We're cat-sitting for the next week and we sold DS' crib this morning. It will be nice to have the space in his room back.

After I sprayed it, let it foam a bit then scrub it out with clean water.
Then I let it dry, and then sprayed it good with lysol or febreeze.

I haven't thought of using a bathroom cleaner. I have one of the foaming ones. Is not using one with bleach just because it would get discolored?
Next couch we get is going to have a cover so I can throw it in the washer when DS pukes.
Yes. Bleach will take the color.
My grandfather and uncles had a car lot, and a friend has a body shop, they use the foaming bathroom cleaner for the carseats.
You know, the one with scrubbing bubbles.
Cleans and deodorizes like a charm.

Ok. I don't care about the color so if the bleach one is all I have, it will be fine. I had no idea the foaming bathroom cleaners could be used for other stuff. Neat!
DH said we can couch shop this weekend so I may get my cover sooner than I think I want a cover with a waterproof layer on the underside and that can go in the washer. I need to find the duct tape though so I can tape DH's mouth shut. He's a salesperson's dream. So easy to sell him stuff and fleece him out of more money. I'm the opposite. It's impossible to sell me something I don't want.
Oh yeah. Lots of things have more than one purpose.

Oh Resolve! I use it for everything on the area rug or furniture, works like a charm. The vinegar will get rid of the smell, but will take awhile to let the vinegar air out.

Resolve is what we used to scrub it then sprinkled baking soda on it. That's our usual method but the smell is sticking around this time.

I have vinegar and baking soda but no club soda.
Baking soda and vinegar will work!

When I was growing up, we had a black naugahyde couch and rocker recliner. It was SO easy to keep clean.
I would have LOVED to have had something like that when my kids were little.

I cleaned ours with carpet shampoo then after it dried, spritzed it with fabreze. Never could smell it again.
We had naugahyde, too, growing up. Now we have leather in the living room and moved our fabric furniture to the basement, replacing the old set that was my DH's before we met. We also have a faux suede set in the library.

When my great grandfather died, I got his leather arm chair and couch.
I loved that chair. It smelled like him.
Finally had to get rid of it.
