Our yard is too small, woman!

I don't mind cutting the grass, unless it's over 90 degrees with killer humidity.

Czech, we miss you!

Yes, Trudy, you can go home early.

Vette, hope Ajax is doing better.

FWM, how goes Wayne's job search?

Lexxy, what are you reading now?

Everyone, try to stay cool today...and remember to laugh.

At work way too early. There is some road construction and my route was supposed to be blocked. The other way adds 6 miles to the trip. Guess they got it done over the weekend. So in my car i sit.
Hot here too. Super humid. I want a lawn guy. It's just not my thing.
Have a good day all!

We've actually tried, but our choices seem to be: hire a ridiculously over-priced lawn service, or do it ourselves. We've tried to find a teen looking for extra money, but apparently selling drugs is easier...

hmm

Who knows?

I'm at work too early too. I came in early to make sure I'm here if something happens in the department I'm helping cover. Luckily, I don't have to actually relocate for the week, but the person that does doesn't really know what she's doing. I figured I should be here.

It's raining here right now. And supposed to in the 90s. I want to go home and take a nap.

The boys really outgrew theirs two years ago, but VA laws require they remain in them until their 8th birthday. They said, "there's so much room now!" Of course they can't see out as well in DH's Audi. LOL

I understand Enimen will be moving to Smyrna...Ohfour, thoughts?

Funny story: when the first booster seat law in Ohio was written, the only requirement was height. My mom qualified for a booster seat. It was quickly added to with weight and age, but there was a time lol

Nothing yet, but the search is young.

I'll post an update when he finds something he likes.smile

I'm doing laundry and watching The Tennis.wink

It's gross outside. Very humid, and we're heading for a high of 98.

So, I will hide in the house.

I hope all the Geeks have a good Monday!

Happy birthday to your boys, FNW!smile

Really?  Well, I may just have to spend more time at DDs!  Like...every night!

When G and I got married, we lived in a old farmhouse.  Built in 1880.  No heat, no air.  It was amazing...

Justin Timberlake just bought the property across the street from that house.  I'm thinking about going back.  LOL...

I understand Enimen is tired of L.A. life and plans to move to Smyrna. He's been there a couple times and likes it there. Can't really blame him, I like it there, too.

I have so much to do, I don't even know where to start. My head is spinning. I literally cannot see the surface of my desk, I have to stack piles to have a place to write.

Plant manager just came and asked if I knew who had his production numbers. Yes, I do, somewhere. I haven't gotten to that yet. He was like, oh, um, ok, tomorrow? Sure, tomorrow Steve

I'm going to operate under that assumption and just hold on to the card until the other one arrives....

Had #1 received it and not #2, I might come more thinking that.  But #1 was the one who refused to write FIL's wife's name on a thank you card two years ago which raised holy hell in that family.

Wait and see is the way to go.

Hopefully, the other card will come tomorrow.

I would hate to think that a grandparent would hold a grudge.

I would hate to think they would, too, especially against a (then) 5 or 6 year old (I can't remember how old they were at the time).

FNW, anytime you get something like that, maybe figure out how to put it in an account for the boys.

Divide it into college funds or just a savings account.

They wouldn't even have to know about them.

Waiting for the rain to start.

We've had thunder and lightening off and on for days.

Cloud to ground lightening all around us.

It's a real light show.

Can smell the rain.

It's like we are in a bubble.

Not a drop of rain.

That's what we do when my parents do the same thing.  Get a game for the family or PS3.  Or something everyone can use.

If you do, take it now.  Much easier to take them back to back.

Two or three years ago they sent a gift...I can't remember what it was, maybe $5.00 or something, and I had the boys write them thank you notes. Only #1 refused to write "grandma 'del" on the note or on the envelope. He just said, "no, I"m done" and walked away. It was at a time when we were still going up there, and she was mean to him. Mean like name calling, getting in his face when he threw a tantrum and screeching at him, etc. He started avoiding her and when she would approach him, he would not look up at her. So when he refused to write her name, I really couldn't blame him. DH told me to let it go, that he didn't blame #1, and he'd mail the card anyway. When FIL received it, he called DH and said, "we have a problem." Yes, we do, your wife is mean to our son(s) and our son is getting old enough to understand. (DH told him). FIL went on about how hurt his wife was, etc. DH told him we asked #1 to write her name and he refused, and because she was mean to him, he wasn't going to force him. FIL said he thinks #1 was "coached" to not write her name. DH said on the contrary, and that was that and they hung up.

It didn't come today either. I'm going to ask for receipts for the cards in the hopes I can get Toys R Us to honor the gift card. Assuming it was lost in the mail.
