I know quite a few gay people. And they REALLY REALLY do not like to be associated with transgenders. Being attracted to the same sex has not ONE thing to do with being transgendered...

The OP is about a mentally challenged daughter being able to get a non life saving medical treatments against her parent's wishes.

Now, if the girl had cancer or continual seizures, I think we might have debate about who should have the right to decide treatment.

But this is not the case.

I have questions.

How old is the girl?

If she is over 18, has mom had the girl declared incompetent?

Who is paying for these treatments?

Who is going to make sure this girl continues the treatments for the rest of her life?

Who will pay for that?
