Disney is remaking all their cartoons with real people.

The Odd Couple and now MacGyver.

I simply despise remakes. They are NEVER as good as the original - whether color or black and white...

I haven't seen the recent adaptations.

I am curious how they will pull off some of them.

 You didn't see Cinderella?  That's a shame.

Star Trek was decent, in that it honored the original. I have not yet seen Jungle Book.

I am with you karl.  The greatest sin alive was Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.  There was nothing ever to compare with those oompa loompa's.  The digital version was just not even close.

I love the actor who is playing Tarzan so I'm happy about the remake.  Alexander Skarsgard.  Wow.

I loved the Brady Bunch movies they made. Sure they were cheesy but they weren't pretending to be anything else and they were funny.

LOL, a real classic that I still watch every time I catch it.  I was informed by my ex's teenage sons that it was a really lame movie.

I never liked it. I never liked any of the brat pack movies.

I think it's cause I lived it.

I was in school with each one of those types of people.

IMDb gave it a 7.2. Sometimes I agree with them, sometimes I don't.

I started watched True Blood, but stopped after it got REALLY weird...LOL

I don't mind "continuations" or "sequels", what I hate are "remakes" where they try and improve the original while still telling the original story (or at least what they perceive as the original intent of the original story anyway).

If it's great enough to be re-cast with modern actors and re-shot with modern cinematography equipment, they it's great enough to be unchanged in script and character development. If it's not great enough for the script to be left alone, why is it worth re-making?

 This. A thousand % this.

I loathe remakes. I don't think I have ever seen one that I like. Blech. They suck.

My wife is watching what is apparently a cartoon remake of Wizard of Oz, with Tom and Jerry and Heckle and Jeckle. That is as far as I got before I left the room. Did not care for it.

I do like the Snow White remakes.

The one with Julia Roberts was quirky.

The one with Charlize Therone is darker.
