Sooo, today we will spend the day hunting everywhere seeking Jojo's tablet.  She has lost it and we're about to go on a road trip for 10 days.  Grrrrr.

DD12 also leaves for horse camp today, and I'll be seeking comfort as I drop her off for a week.  It just doesn't really get easier.  I feel for the mom's that have had to do the college drops.

I still have trouble dropping the boys off at birthday parties and leaving, LL. We used to be required to stay now we're not needed anymore. I feel for you.

DH is golfing this morning and I'm trying to figure out the day. It's cloudy and damp out. Yuck. DH needs to put together a new beach cart I bought for our trip when he gets home.

I bet she'll have a great time at horse camp, LL

That sounds like fun!smile

Waiting for my A/C guys to get here.

The downstairs unit gets changed today.

I cooled the downstairs to 68, since we'll be without air for a few hours.

I feel like I'm sitting in an icebox.wink

FWM, since getting my new ac last August my electric bill has gone down so much! I'm on the equal payment plan and II have overpaid so much this year that the electric company just sent a letter saying my payments are being lowered by almost $70 for the rest of the year!

That's fantastic, SB.

I hope to see some savings, too.

Fingers crossed!wink

Today's big decision:
Crawl back in bed and hope work doesn't call
Go to the gym and hope work doesn't call.
Get into some heavy housework and hope work doesn't call.
Be a couch potato and hope work doesn't call

Ahh the electronics hunt, I know it well. It is another stellar weather day here. Another coat of stain to do on the trunk. Grocery shopping, just a few things to pick up. That's about it. Meeting up with friends later.

Need to bring supplies up from party box in basement for tomorrow's party. Maybe make a salad later, too. Look for my hamburger press.

I have lots of cleaning to do today. The forecast for tomorrow is horrible, so we are making major preparations to move the celebration indoors.

DD took the dog out, soon after I hear a kid screaming. I ran outside to find DD sitting on the step reading and the dog on his run, all was fine. It was the kid next door. He is an obnoxious cry baby. Lives with his grandparents and all he has to do to get his way is shed a tear and scream. I really like my friend, the neighbor, but the screams are ridiculous.

I'd have to run over there in a panic to check if he was alright, what with his curdling screams scaring the neighbors.

Successful morning! Two hours at gym, grocery store, shower and no calls from work! Starving. Must eat. Then i have to decide if I'm gonna chill or be productive. I'm only 2,000 steps from 15,000 for the day. Not sure how I'll get them in. It's already scorching hot outside.

A/C guys have been at it since 7am.

It's up to 77 downstairs. Not too bad, so far.

I hope they finish up soon.

Wayne is at Central Market, getting burgers for the grill for dinner.

I'm relaxing, watching The Tennis.wink

I hope everyone is having a good day.smile

 Wow great job!

DD and I just finished the second coat.  Looking awesome, although we are both covered in stain.  We were being silly and laughing the whole time.

Yes! Pictures would be great!

SB, I feel like a lazy slug. I need to start going for a walk first thing in the morning.

Like, 6am. If I wait until later, it's just too hot, and I won't do it.cry

I remembered to take the before pics!  It should be all done later in the week.  I need to do some touch up on the stain later and then this week I will put the poly on, that will take some time though since I have to lightly sand in between poly coats.

I'm going super early tomorrow to walk one of our bridges. It is a 3 mile round trip over and back. Have to do it before it gets too hot. Mid to upper 90"s and maybe 100 for the next week.

I'm so glad I thought to do that, FNW.

It really felt cold, early this morning. But, I knew as the day wore on, it would get hot.

I think they are re-taping all the duct work in the attic now. (They told me, we had so many leaks, the attic was cooler than the house.)cry

Oh well, it will be good as new, soon.smile

We're in the same boat, SB. Hitting 98 or 99.

100 tomorrow or Tuesday. I just need to get myself out, early.

Get back in the habit.

Thanks for the inspiration! I appreciate it!smile

Think about how efficient the new system will be.  The leaks must have put a lot of stress on the old system.

Well, I'm not an A/C expert. Would the leaks stress the system?

Or, just waste a lot of heating and cooling?

I don't know.confuse Maybe, both.

What, I do know is, we won't be air conditioning/heating the attic, anymore.

(I'm not even going to think about the thousands of dollars, we wasted. Because the system was never done properly, from the get go.)cry

Live and learn.

At least we know that the man who is putting in the new systems, is doing it right.smile

It would put stress on the system because the units would have been working harder than they needed to cooling the attic.

HI, ALL!!

This is my free 19 minutes of the day...and I have a hangover. Those white Russians are killers but oh so good! I blame my friend. She wanted chili soup, I had some, took a big bowl over to her, and this is my reward. Man, she makes a mean white Russian.

Heading out in a few for a meal and later a fireworks show. Hauling all the kids and DS. It's going to be a fun night. (again, shh)

Our ductwork is under the house.

One of our dogs, years ago, got under the house to have her pups.

Couldn't blame her though.

A couple of the ducts had been torn part by something and it was nice a cool under the house.

When I build my house, they accidently knocked off the duct work when they insulated the attic. I didn't notice for a couple months, until the first hot day and it was 80+ in the house. But acourding to the repair guy, it was nice and cool in the attic. Helpful.

There is no, under the house, in Texas, Lily.

Built on a slab.

Furnaces and A/C Coils, hang from the rafters, in the attic.

I miss having a basement. Well, sometimes.biggrin

Our ductwork is under the house.

One of our dogs, years ago, got under the house to have her pups.

Couldn't blame her though.

A couple of the ducts had been torn part by something and it was nice a cool under the house.

There is no, under the house, in Texas, Lily.

Built on a slab.

Furnaces and A/C Coils, hang from the rafters, in the attic.

I miss having a basement. Well, sometimes.biggrin

Shouldn't you have a basement for tornadoes?

We probably should, being at the end of Tornado Alley, and all.

But, Texas sits on bedrock.

It's very expensive, to put in, even a small basement.

They have to blast it with explosives.

Even putting in a pool, is an adventure, SB.

Pool companies, will give you one price, provided they don't have to blast.

It's another thousand dollars a foot, if the have to use explosives.

(And this was 20 years ago. I have no clue, what it costs now.)

Unless you build on a hill, or have a whole bunch of money...you don't have a basement, in Texas.cry

When DH and I were dating, the first gift he gave me was a bottle of Shalimar. He loves it....and so do I.
He spent the last 4 days in France. And he brought home a bottle of his favorite fragrance. He's amazing.

OMG I used to be the fragrance gal at the cosmetics counter.  I used to get so much Shalimar for free.  I threw so much of it away.
