A Bellport man whose driver’s license had been suspended 29 times was arrested Saturday, Suffolk County police said.
Highway Patrol officers spotted a black 2014 Lexus speeding on Sunrise Highway, headed east toward Lincoln Avenue about 6:30 p.m. Saturday in Sayville, police said in a news release Saturday.
Police arrested the driver, Tyquon Gregory, 24, who had 29 license suspensions from nine separate dates from 2011 to 2015, police said.
Gregory’s offenses include failing to answer for traffic tickets, failing to pay traffic fines, refusing to submit to a chemical test and driving while ability impaired, police said. He was listed as a persistent violator by the state Department of Motor Vehicles.
Police charged Gregory with aggravated unlicensed operator of a motor vehicle and he was ticketed for speeding, driving without a license and driving without insurance. He was booked at the Fifth Precinct and released on an unspecified bail.
Gregory is set to be arraigned Sept. 16 at First District Court in Central Islip.
No one, technically. He was unlicensed. But I understand what you are saying...most likely a girlfriend or family member either unaware, or swayed by his charms.
My granny didn't have a driver's license until she was in her late 50s.
Never had an accident or traffic violation.
