MORNING!

Guess who slept through the night? I spent half of it on the couch because he was asleep in the middle of the floor and I didn't want to wake him, but oh well. He slept.

I've got a couple things to do in town and then I'm on the road west. State Fair here I come!

My do-to list for today.

Pick up last IEP for Jesse at high school.

Pick up a form stating Aaron is still in high school for insurance.

Get breakfast.

Go scan in several papers to renew Aaron's insurance. (This could take an hour)

Take Jesse to college to turn in papers.

Then go to another office to finish the FASFA.

Lunch.

Then bring Jesse to a friend's house.

Take Aaron back to school shopping.

Hair cuts.

And hopefully be home by supper time.

I'm going to a friend's house after work to learn how to decently put on eye makeup. That's right, I'm 30 years old and still don't know how to put on my makeup.

Morning everyone. It has cooled down a wee bit here.

I got my new Dyson yesterday. My stairs look & feel amazing but I may have broken the Dyson. Apparently these cordless jobs only work 15 minutes at a time. I didn't see that anywhere before I bought it. Anyway, it ran out of juice & got really hot. I set it up to recharge overnight but this morning it still hadn't charged. I moved it to another outlet & will see when I get home.

Have fun at the fair you two.

Oh no!

I hope it's not broken, Lexxy.

That would be a bummer!

Yeah $400 for 15 minutes is pretty steep.  I hope it is all charged when I get home.  It really did a great job on the stairs & made my least favorite chore a snap.

No way.  That thing should be able to be put through that.  You return that sucker if it broke after 15 minutes of use.

My Dyson is about 10 years old and still works perfectly.

Oh I will.  It will just be a PITA.  My friend ordered it for me through her Amazon Prime account.  I'm not sure how their return policy works.  Fingers crossed I just didn't plug it in right.

Amazon is great at returns, so don't worry about that. I hope it's working for you by the time you get home though.

Amazon is great as far as returns. I bought an air hockey table which arrived damaged. They sent a new one. Said don't worry to return it...they believed me. I ended up giving the damaged one to my father who can fix anything and he now has an air hockey table in his basement for the boys when they visit.

Working from home today. #1 has been complaining his ear hurts since Sunday when he was on the golf course with DH. I started him on some antibiotic drops I've had in my arsenal.

Texted DD who is loving life. She had practice once this morning and will have it again this afternoon. They have a nutritionist on staff who weighs them before and after training to make sure they aren't losing weight and are eating enough. She also assigns them a certain quantity of water to drink based on their weight etc.

Her BF was invited to skate with an NHL hockey team today too. He is on his way to going pro and they invited him to come practice with them. Hoping he makes a good impression!

No. They are quite far apart actually. But they are used to it - boarding school teaches you how to keep in touch from afar.

Trudy, I won't be coming that far East.

Western PA to see Wayne's family, is as far east as I'll get on this trip.

Sniff, sniff! I will try to get to Boston, one of these days.

If I make my way up the east coast, would you northeasterners show me where to get the best seafood?

I did not get everything done today.

Still need to finish some paperwork.

Just found out that one of DD's friends has died. He was walking along the highway and was hit by a semi - apparently it was a suicide. I feel horribly for the poor trucker who hit him. He had an amazing family, I hope they are able to deal with this.

To be honest, the kid was always kind of a jerk. But no one deserves this. I really feel for his family. DD is being very pragmatic about it. She is more concerned about his sister than anything else.

No idea. I assume he had some issues since he jumped into highway traffic - but nothing was known to us. He was a great hockey player and had a lot of friends. He was never one of the nice kids though. He was sort of a jerky type, which could have been a defense mechanism for whatever was ailing him.
