Oatmeal working on the stove, fake bacon(as dad calls it) ready for the microwave. Toast if somebody wants to shove it in the slots.
My regular alarm just went off.
FWM, you are getting us all souvenirs on this trip, right?

I think I blew it. I mentioned how I recently got transferred to a flight controls position working on the wings and tail. I knew it entailed working in a man lift, but I thought it was no big deal.
First thing this morning I have to go up to the very tippy top of the tail, which I soon found out looks not nearly as high up from the ground. Halfway up I was getting nervous and by the time I was at the top I was nearly panicking. I had to have someone talk me back down.
So that probably is going to get me transferred back to my old job which sucks.

You are just as safe on the man lift as the roller coaster. Your harness is tied off and will catch you if you were to fall. That's the whole purpose of the harness. And you're small enough you don't have to worry about breaking the harness

We are dog sitting a friend's Great Dane. He had to drop her (the dog) off while I was out, so he just put her in the back yard. Well, we are home now and this poor dog is terrified. She lets me pet her, but is cowering in the corner out back. I tried to entice her with steak and she wouldn't touch it. I have both my dogs kenneled and am leaving the back door open to see if she will decide to come in, but so far she is not moving. Any ideas? I feel so bad for her!
Just ignore her and don't try to force it NAOW. Ignoring is way better for them than coaxing and she will come around. Also you should let your dog's be around her as long as she's not showing any aggression towards them.

Thank you! I am just letting her be. I have the door open and she can come inside or go into the garage where her kennel is. She keeps walking into the garage and right back outside, lol. So slowly... I will take my dogs out though if you think that's best, I was just afraid that they might be scaring her, but no when they first met there was no aggression between them on either side.
Well, she made it into her kennel in the garage. I'm still leaving the door to the house open so she can come on in when she feels comfortable, but I know her kennel is probably her safe place. The dogs are coming and going to her as well, so I think that is working.

Aww your dogs are being the perfect hosts.

I always found that sitting calmly and just talking to the dog worked.
Let them come to me.
