A Washington state mother could face charges after her 4-year-old son was hurled off a 27-foot railroad bridge into a river.

The boy is seen in the video, recorded by a witness, being thrown by an unidentified man off a three story bridge into the Wynoochee River in Montesano.  The boy's mother was reportedly nearby but just watched as the event unfolded.

'He was screaming and crying — it was terrible,' witness Brianna Jones told local station KING 5.

OK, Nancy Grace is playing this whole thing. Mom is down in the water. And, there are a bunch of people on the shore just standing there watching. These idiots are claiming the boy wanted to jump off so mom was down in the water waiting we he was tossed off. They said he begged them to jump off. It's even more bizarre that they did this in front of so many people!

Ah....my kids were cliff diving before they were 5. They could swim and dive before they were two. We do it to this day. I jump with Sweetness.

The issues in this vary depending on the situation.

If it was a fun outing then it was nothing more than stupidity in parenting (something lots of parents are guilty of). If the kid wanted to try a high jump, was already a good swimmer, and had dived or jumped from lesser heights before, then I don't see the issue.

If the man had been trying to drown the child intentionally, then I could see the pressing of charges.

I wonder if this was some kind of exorcism??? Not a lot of facts in the article, but the mother standing by doing nothing and an unknown man throwing the off the bridge into the water.... Maybe to rid him of an evil spirit?? Stranger things have happened.

You can clearly see someone standing down below in the water, which was mom. They are just stupid people apparently.

I'm betting if Sweetness and Bruiser were terrified and screaming you wouldn't throw them down anyway though.

Truer words have never been spoken. DD called me just last night and asked me to teach Sweetness to dive. I've already taught her to swim. We are going to my sisters pool on Sunday (NOT Saturday, college football starts on Saturday, and you know, PRIORITIES!!!!), but I think shes ready.
