Painting, oh vay. My friend just moved into a new house and her and her boyfriend did the painting and they SUCK at it. Ever hear of TAPE, people? And if you can't find the ladder to tape the ceiling - DON'T PAINT. And baseboards? If you get paint on them - immediately wipe it off with a wet cloth. Going to their house is going to drive me nuts - they would have been better off leaving it builder beige.

I am picky about painting. I take down everything possible, I wash the walls with TSP first, then tape with precision. Then paint at least two coats - even with one coat paint. It's an ordeal - my husband tries to just let me be. He's allowed to do the center portions of large walls, but only with supervision, because he tends to think one thick coat is better than two regular coats - and that leads to drips.

LL is never invited to visit me. In one corner of my kitchen I couldn't reach the corner easily because I'm terrified of heights & will only use a step ladder. The corner is terribly botched. I got brown paint on the white crown molding & couldn't reach to wipe it so it dried.
I will pat myself on the back that my decorative accent wall is perfectly sharply edged with no bleed onto the other walls.
FWM I like the dishes. Maybe think about red paint though. I think red kitchens were about 15 years ago. I know mine was red when I bought it 10 years ago & was already starting to go out of style. But from what I've seen on HGTV grey is definitely the newest trend so maybe different shades of grey or maybe with the grey the red is still cool.

I had my pre-op appointment this morning. One of the forms amused me. I had to initial twice on the same form acknowledging that I will be sterile. I know they're covering their butts. I just found it amusing that I needed to acknowledge the same thing twice on the same piece of paper.
I want to paint. Our whole house is done in what I think of a "muted desert" shades, kind of reddish Browns except the entryway which is the greyest shade of grey possible. I really want to change the grey color.
I prefer a yellow tone in the living room.
But all the drywall on our ceilings is falling apart, so we have to take care of that before we paint.
We'll probably have to pay someone to repair the drywall, it's going to be a big job.

When I do mortgage closings these days, I have to tell the borrower at least 4 times if they don't pay, they will get foreclosed on. And yes, they have to acknowledge it twice on one piece of paper.
