Does anyone have this? I have it in my car and it just expired. I kind of like it. THere is a 6 month promotional rate. I want to get it but i don't want to sign up for anything on my CC that has a reoccuring charge. When the 6 month term is up they just start automatically charging. And, of course this is because most of us forget to cancel, etc. And, i don't like it enough to want to pay the normal rate. So, could i sign up with a prepaid Visa, pay the 6 months, then just let it expire?
Well, i could remember to call. That isn't the issue. But, i have had reoccurring charges before and even if you call, they "forget" to cancel it on their end. So , you get even one more day of service and they charge you the whole thing. I just don't trust that. I had bought a magazine on amazon years ago with the same thing. And, it was a big hassle to really get it cancelled. I just don't want the hassle. i want to pay upfront for my 6 months and then if i want to go renew it, i will.

I think that would work great LGS. FWIW, we've had good luck with cancelling and them refunding us. Their customer service is good. Plus when you cancel, they offer you all sorts of discounts in the future if you want to think about it before extending your service.

I've had it for years. Love it. Don't always listen to it, but it's nice to have when regular radio fades out or when I need traffic. Just discovered Patriot Channel. I usually listen to WMAL talk radio but will start to listen to Patriot more on my commute. Rush is on WMAL from 12-3.
Buy an AUX cord for your smartphone and you can play anything you can download. It's much cheaper and far easier.
I have music on my phone. I want to listen to talk radio and current news.
You can download those onto your phone. Most radio channels have an online way to listen. Get the podcast, download the channel, etc. Your phone can do a lot more than just play music.

I miss it. I loved it when I had it, but I can't justify paying for radio.
That's how I felt too. When I had it I didn't listen to it enough and it DID have commercials. There were commercials for other Sirius channels not for Taco Bell or whatever but it was still a commercial. It got annoying. And some of the channels repeated so frequently that I knew what would be playing next based on what was on when I turned it on. Oh this is Xx then I know that Yy and Zz are next...

Automatic renewal is fine if you want that. But, you as a consumer should have a choice for auto renewal or not. Click yes if you want it and no if you don't. I think that is unethical and i think there should be credit card laws that allow consumers to decline that. It's a sleazy business practice in my opinion. And, it is the reason i no longer order magazines.
Well, i was going to buy a prepaid credit card. But, if you agree to that, they can then ding your credit score if you just let it lapse because technically you would owe them the money since they would continue the service. So, i did consider that.

I have it and pay monthly, I will not let them keep my card on file for the very reasons you have shared. so I just go online monthly when I get my e-statement and pay.
