This is really a shock and a completely idiotic action. The Great Wall was so impressive; yes, there were steps to walk up/down as you proceeded along the wall. This really spoils the whole thing, although I suppose if you only look from the bottom it still looks great.... Whatever was the government thinking? Yes, government, nothing is done in China without government approval....
