Yes. Most colleges require it.

Are there any scholarships that may be financial based? Then yes.

Check out the website but there are other reasons to do it.

We never heard anything back from it.

Huge waste of time.

If you want to get any type of aid - scholarships, etc., you have to fill it out. You also have to designate what schools you want it sent to, and then you need to additionally apply for the individual things you want.

You don't hear back from the FAFSA - it's for information and qualification purposes and goes with other applications.

You do when trying to set testing for services.

None of the testing agencies ever got any notices.

And how do you know if you're getting any assistance or loans if they don't tell you?

FAFSA doesn't tell you. The school does. You mark on the form who you want your info sent to and then that school uses the info to make up your financial aid package. Even if you don't want loans, there are other things you may qualify for that are determined through the info from the FAFSA - like Pell grants.

Yes. Well. The agencies that were waiting on the information never got it.

I don't know that the FAFSA is sent to any agencies. You have to enter the code for the schools you want it sent to, I don't recall any agencies being on the list. I believe you send it to the school and the school passes it along to whomever you tell the school may have access. If not, and they agency DOES have a code to enter for the FAFSA, you must not have completed it correctly and submitted it correctly. I have done it 9 times now (for DH back in the day and for both DD's) and have never had a problem getting the info to the people who needed it. In fact, once we qualified for a grant for daycare when DH was in school. We didn't even know the grant existed, but the school gave it to us based on the FAFSA we submitted. If you don't send it to a school, you won't get any response.

Did it with the financial aid at the college on their computer.

The ones who set up the Regents testing use the information in the FAFSA to set it up.

They, the ones setting up the Regents test, haven't heard anything.

It's a $500 test.

Unless we get help paying for it, Jesse can't take it until we can save up for it.

All I'm saying is, it seems like a big waste of time.
