Went to the one act play last night. I was really impressed. The drama dept at the high school competes every year, Caitlyn participated when she was there and now, Aaron is involved.
The are doing Radium Girls. They are doing a really good job. Made me tear up.

Haven't you ever watched Karate Kid? When you arrive at the venue there will be cute girl for each of your boys and there will be a group of mean boys that will try to beat them into submission.

I've always been impressed with the HS shows. I hope DD is interested when she is in HS. I think those clubs and activities are such positive experiences.

Lots of people in their uniforms. Usually in a school gym that has squares taped off for the different levels and event they are competing in. Katas (forms) in one area, Kumite (fighting) in another. There should be a registration/check in table and they will tell you where to go.
bring a book to read. It is a lot of waiting for 1-2 minutes of action. Especially if there are many kids in their age/rank division.
bring an extra jacket if it is cold. Somehow, those gym doors never get closed Because the participants and judges down on the floor are hot. Bring water bottles. Some will have a food stand if it is a bigger tournament, smaller ones may or may not.
i did quite a few tournaments growing up with my instructors son. He was state champion and went on to the Olympics the first year they exhibited Tae Kwon Do. I trained with him.
I'm taking the grandbabies to Pumpkinfest tomorrow. SOOOO much fun. It's a fall/Halloween/pumpkin themed street fair. One of the churches blocks off an entire block for kids under 5. Bounce houses, petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, and trick or treating. All free. They are going to have a blast.

I'm on pins and needles. Waiting on the kids to get here, wish the airport wasn't two hours away. I went shopping and bought the girls dolls, doll strollers, purses with accessories, craft stuff. I'm trying not to call again.
