A flock of flirting flamingos is pure, passionate, pink pandemonium-a frenetic flamingle-mangle-a discordant discotheque of delirious dancing, flamboyant feathers, and flamingo lingo.
I've already taken the dog out, put two A/C's at the end of the driveway for pickup, cleaned the dead mouse out of the garage, cleared the deck of the leaves, and now I am off to the bank and pet store. DD and I may go downtown to shop and go out to lunch. Oh and need to get gas for the snow blower, may get some snow manana.

Today is still warmish, going up to around 70. Tonight is when the temps will drop.
I am trying to finish up one of two papers due tomorrow night. We are going toy shopping for the Lodge's Christmas party this afternoon. Nothing like shopping and wrapping for 40 kids to get you ready for the holidays.
I have a massage set at 11 (I should go shave) and a therapy session at 6. Maybe a nap in between? Or a run out to Wal-Mart where they have one of the gifts I've been trying to get my family that have been sold out for weeks. Got an email this morning that they are in.
NVM. Only available online. Glad I checked. It would suck if I went all the way out there and it wasn't there.
AAArgh! Why is it still not available on Amazon?! Walmart has it but not Amazon?? Now i have to order from two places. It's a good thing I really like it and think my parents will too.
I wish it counted for Black Friday tho. And why do we have Black Friday when it's not a thing here? We have boxing day. To keep money in Canada instead of in the US? Our $ is still worth only 0.75. Anyone cross border shopping is an idiot.

I am on the road....well, not at this exact moment. Stopped for a soda on the first leg of my holiday vacation road trip. Heading to where I used to live to visit some friends. Then next week I'll continue to my sister's for thanksgiving. I can't believe I haven't been back in nearly 3 years. It's weird, but I'm excited to just drive around and see how things have changed (or haven't). And I'm really looking forward to seeing my friend. Back onto I-70, good day all!
Mom was telling me who is bringing what for Thanksgiving.
I offer to make a pumpkin pie, "No, we won't need it."
I offer to make the beans, "No, that's covered".
I offer to make the cranberry sauce, dressing, or squash, "No, I like the can, I can make it, we don't need it".
I offer to make sweet potato casserole, "No, I'm making the patties". (you know the little orange hockey pucks)
I am not looking forward to Thanksgiving dinner.

I'm gonna be sneaking around, seasoning things behind her back.

I made it and have checked in. My friend isn't available until tomorrow, so I'm on my own tonight. I'm going to go creep my old neighborhood. And drive around the city a bit. Big decision is where to have dinner?? So many choices.
DG, where does your sister live? You mention I-70. I lived in Martinsburg, WV for a few years, off I-81. I-70 was not far, in Hagerstown. I went to a funeral last spring in Martinsburg and afterwards, I drove around. I called it my sentimental journey. I was alone, and stopped at all my old haunts. Shed a tear or two, and reflected on the years. It was wonderful.
Trump's was nice. Very nice. I'll post pics in the scrapbook section later. There was a protest going on down the street at the RR building, where white nationalists were meeting for a conference. I guess they got bored there and decided to march to the hotel. I got a few pics of them, too, from inside the hotel looking out. Chanting peace while giving the middle finger to the hotel. Ironic.
Not up to much. Ran errands yesterday. DS is officially done re Christmas and birthday gifts. We're about 3/4 done with Christmas shopping.
Got DS' new car seat set up this morning. He's already at the weight/height to go into a regular booster seat but not old enough. He will now be in a high back harness booster. If this seat fits him well (and it should), we're going to buy a second one to put in my parents' Jeep.
Need to do laundry and dishes, but they'll keep for tomorrow if I don't want to do them. Need to change pillow cases regardless. Damn dog is sleeping on my pillows again.

What is wrong with those idiots. You think they would have retreated back to their basements by now.

I had the Lobster Cobb Salad. Mom had an omelette, Dad had steak and eggs, DH had steak frites, and the boys had a hamburger & fries. Mom & I had a Peach Smash to drink and shared a BLT GNT (Gin & tonic). Dad had a BLT. The waiter took his drink when he was in the restroom with the boys by accident, and brought back one then another waitress brought one, so they divided it for mom & I to share.

Sounds yummy!
It looks like you all had a nice time!
Loved the pictures you posted in the Scrapbook Section!

I'm in Indianapolis right now, I lived here for 13 years before moving back to my hometown. I've done a little driving around and there are more places I was to go see. Lots of memories.
Ended up having dinner with my friend. They drove overnight to get here, so she thought they would be too tired. But we managed dinner. I hit the grocery store for a few essentials (cake, wine, Fritos, etc) on my was back to my hotel and now I'm in for the night with my geeks and a book

Drove 30 minutes to get back to the Chili Cook-off - I called
Bingo for them last night - what a hoot! So much liquid re-
freshment had been consumed, they couldn't see what num-
bers they needed to cover! So I made everything
easier for them. Came home with a really neat tote bag for
my handicraft projects - just large enough for the ball of
yard, scissors, circular knitting needle, and a few extra things.
42 cooks, so they had preliminary judging. The Finals table
had 22 cups - and they were awesome! Only one or two
"duds". I was delighted that the woman running the cook-
off came in second - and her husband came in first! Ab-
solutely fabulous. He is now automatically qualified to
cook at the World Cook-off at Terlingua, Texas next
October! Since he will not need to cook tomorrow, he's
letting me use his space so I can try my hand. I've done
a lot of competition cook-offs, but not in the last 15 years.
I think it will be a lot of fun to get back into it.
Of course, this means that I will have to play hookey from
Church tomorrow. And DH had planned to take me out to
breakfast, but I'll need to be at the cook-off by 9:00. That's
OK - God knows I love him, and DH can take me out next
weekend (or maybe I'll treat him!).
