DH and I hit the road for a long road trip tomorrow. Will end up taking little man back to his dad. The poor kid is definitely going to be getting a lot of travel time.
DS is sick, that is why he sent little man home with me. Hopefully DS is well enough by tomorrow night, that we don't have to stay again.
Hoping I don't get this crud.
Hope you all have a great day today.

Faith isn't something that keeps bad things from happening. Faith is what helps us get through bad things when they do happen.
Busy day today trying to get two papers finished before midnight.
Yesterday was a blast! We shopped for 40 kids. Then we wrapped everything! We saved almost $500. Then the four of us went out to dinner and spent over $200 on dinner, no alcohol or dessert. Much fun was had.
CZECH, I hope DS feels better fast, and no one else gets sick.
DG, hope are having fun.
JLBEAR, it sounds like a great time.
IKWTDS, glad it isn't snow!
We may be putting our trees up today.
We still need rain.

The Boy is annoying me and amusing me at the same time. He keeps asking what he should bring for thanksgiving. Because he "feels he should bring something". I have to keep reminding him that

I also hope everyone recognizes what a big deal it is for me to relinquish the making of the turkey. Just saying.
That was a hard one for me too. But it makes him so happy.
Oh, I know. The hard part for me is how I came to cook thanksgiving dinner. one year my sister was busy studying for law school finals, so we invited my parents to Indiana for thanksgiving and I offered to cook so she could study. My dad declared that it was the best turkey he had ever eaten and I was forever to make thanksgiving dinner. That was 10 years ago and this will be the first one I'm not cooking.

Well get busy on the stuffing! Can't stuff a fried Turkey!

Just got back from a two-day chili cook-off - started with me calling
Bingo on Friday night for them - won a nice project tote bag, and a
chili shaped cutting board. Saturday, I was one of the judges for the
Finals table - 42 chilies, 18 of which made it to the finals table. Yum!
Today, they asked (begged) me to cook, because they were short one
cook in order to have the cook-off sanctioned. They provided me with
EVERYTHING (except the meat I provided), including spices, stove,
pot, liquids. They must have done something right, because I made
it to the finals table. No prize, but lots of good fun! Great practice
for the cook-off I run in March.

I made this bowl for my grandma for Christmas, and I really love it and I want to make more but it is sooo tedious to glaze. I'm falling asleep while I'm doing it! I hate glazing.

So, it's been bugging me that I couldn't put my finger on how I felt about being back here. And I've figured it out:
It's like that vacation spot you always go to. You've been here so often you know where everything is and are super familiar with everything. BUT, it's not home.
