Almost Thanksgiving TUESDAY!

Oh don't you think it's a bit late to thaw the turkey? That can take days and days. Last day of work! Leaving early to beat the traffic. I will finish up work from home.

Probably. It will be ok. Next year I'm going back to our tradition of dining out. This is way too much work. Plus, I could have taken everyone out for what I've spent and still had money left over.

I bought my turkey yesterday. Fresh, not frozen. So no worries about having to let it thaw.

I have to get my shopping list together, and get to the store for the rest of the things I need.

I think tonight we'll finish up the pulled pork I made on Sunday.

I want the leftovers gone, so when I start making the side dishes tomorrow, there will be room in the fridge.

Today is Travel Tuesday for me! I've had a nice visit here, but it's time to go to my sisters. I've already texted her to see when nephew gets home from school to make sure I'm there already.

That works very well! However, I think the part that says "I don't think there is another break from Christmas" would benefit from an "I dont' think there is another DRINK till Christmas" as well.

My mom bought some sort of turkey that came in a baking bag that you don't need to defrost. I'm a little leery. We shall see. Hopefully the bag keeps it moist.

One of my marketing reps is taking us to lunch today. Other than that I'll be cleaning out my office.

My dad has made turkey in a bag before. It keeps it very juicy. Then he opens the bag at the end to brown it. This was popular in the 70's I think.

Not where she lives. Nobody delivers out there. Growing up the one local pizza place would deliver as far as the 7-11. We'd have to go meet them there which was silly. If you have to get in the car you might as well just go pick it up & save the delivery fee.

LOL, that would never fly. They all know I have a 2 hour tolerance for family time. If I stay longer than 2 hours I start getting cranky. I am always the first to leave. I am also usually the first to arrive because my brother is always late. Even when I am intentionally late I still get there first. We aren't exactly dysfunctional we just function in our own way!

The club has a nice Thanksgiving early dinner. I've never gone, but I'm always tempted. But I would miss the leftovers I think, and the wonderful smell in the house. Still......the thought of not having to cook.....

Mom is in stress mode melt down between taking care of her mom and Thanksgiving.
My brother and his 2 kids and 2 dogs are coming in tonight.

I'm going to stay busy today and ignore as much as possible.

I'm going to help with prep as much as I can today.

There are two very large pumpkins on my table, they were bought with the purpose of carving. It didn't happen.

I need 15 ounces of pureed pumpkin for my pumpkin cheesecake.

Do I buy the can for $1.50 or spend an hour cutting, baking, seasoning, pureeing, and cooling the 13 pound pumpkin on the table?

Buy the can. The big pumpkins don't work as well, most baking pumpkin comes from small pumpkins.
