Staying home sick today. I have much to do, and I'm exhausted. I put things back in the island cabinets and rehung the pot rack. And cleaned. I think there will be dust for a couple weeks. But it looks beautiful so far. Should be finished by tomorrow. I probably moved the furniture prematurely since there is still some more painting to do. Oh well. I just couldn't wait.
Sorry about the pooch! I hope he gets better!

The Reston parade was Saturday. We took the boys but didn't stay until the end because the boys had to use the restroom and there were none to be found.
As soon as the babies are picked up my DH and I are leaving to spend a couple of days in a city. We are going to a couple of nice restaurants and staying in a nice hotel for our anniversary. Will also do some Christmas shopping too.
I'm out of work for today, and they are asking everyone to take at least 40 off in December because we are so slow at the moment.
So I'm just doing errands, mailing my SS box, you know...

You should take the week between Christmas and New Year's off.
My mother works for a company that makes airplane parts - they actually have a shut down that week. Paid, though. When they get really slow, they do a whole company shut-down for two weeks with a temporary lay-off and the unemployment office actually comes in to process the employees for those 2 weeks.

You would think the businesses would stay open during the parade.
But they dont.
They close up at 5 or 5:30 except for the 1 bar and the couple restaurants.
And you can't use their bathrooms unless you buy something.
The sales revenue those businesses are losing is enormous.

We even ran in PetSmart and could not find a restroom. Oh well. I think they were just bored (there were moments where the spacing between parade acts was longer than usual). We went to the club and had lunch. It was still a nice day.

Just saw on the news, possible school shooting in Chattanooga.
School is on lockdown, teams are going room by room clearing the school.
Of course parents are freaking out.
Pray for them, please.

The shooting took place nearby the school, not in the school.
An officer was shot while on a call, the suspect ran and the school was locked down because it was on the same road as the shooting, and the concern was that the shooter might take cover there.
The officer was treated and released.
There is a manhunt underway for the shooter.
I bet they have him by this time tomorrow.

Watching Charlie Brown Christmas with my mom. It is SO loud, and she doesn't seem to notice. Sure, her hearing is "just fine". I'm off to find some Tylenol.
