I think it's because he's from the inner cities and has made no bones about thinking our current government housing system fosters dependency on the government.

So Carson was offered head of HHS and turned it down because he didn't believe he had the right experience to head up the agency. I like that kind of honesty. He must think he can do some good with HUD so I am ok with it. I like Carson a lot. Perhaps Trump's second term he is take on HHS.

I heard various sound bytes from Carson when he talked of inner city funding, etc., so I do think Carson is a good fit.

I think it shows that the other Leaders are wanting to forge relations with Trump because they "get" his no nonsense management style. It is a positive sign.

I am ok with it, we need change, and this is a big step towards change. Trump is powerful and really wants visible change. But then again, what do I know, I am not a world leader or head of state!
I see the lefties crying and whining "that isnt his job! why is he acting like prez, he cant do that yet! whaaaa!" but I say go for it. The sooner he can establish real dialog with foreign countries the better.
I think Dr. Carson is very underappreciated. He didn't show well in the primaries, but he's not a good politician. That doesn't make him a bad person or even a bad choice for a Cabinet post.
I think that for the past 8 years the O administration has successfully reduced this country from its superpower status and countries no longer revere us. Now they know Trump will return our status to one that is a force to be reckoned with and they want to be our ally.
I also believe Carson is perfect for the position. I have admired him for a long time. It's good to see him appointed to a Cabinet that he can change for the better. I sure hope he can bring change to a bunch of failing programs within HUD.
