Rain stopped finally. We got over an inch yesterday. Today the clouds are supposed to clear for a sunny day. Meeting friends for lunch today. I'm looking forward to our annual get together.

We have clear skies and loads of sunshine.

But it's cold.

FWM, that north pole fart is going to hit us this weekend.

Between Friday and Monday, we got drenched with over
six inches of rain! There are marshes all over the place,
that never had standing water before. Hope we get a
good freeze this month, to kill all the mosquito larvae.

Today is supposed to be one of those gray days. Yesterday was rainy which made the commute home that much more fun!

Lodge Childrens Christmas party is this Sunday. I need to finish my shopping for it (activity stuff for the tables) and order the pizzas.

Schoolwork and laundry today.

House cleaning is finally getting done here. Not what I planned to do today, but it still has to be done. Sigh

Colder today, brrrr! This arctic fart is kicking my butt!

Hope everyone has a good day if not a great day. :)

Water is supposed to be off for most of today to work on the hot water. It's not off yet. That, or it was off and it was a very quick fix. But, the water hasn't sputtered like it usually does after it's been off so I'm guessing it's not been off yet.

Made Malt-o-Meal and cinnamon sugar toast for breakfast. DS is going through an "I don't like it" stage. He will look at something, declare he doesn't like it, and studiously ignore it for awhile before eating it. He does this with everything, including his favorite foods.

The battle of wills began about 3 months ago. He has yet to realize that I will outstubborn him each and every time.

Thanks :) I'm trying my best to raise a man any woman would be proud to call a husband.

I remember that stage. Mine grazed a lot.

I just kept fruit, cheese, nuts, stuff like that around.

They get hungry enough, they eat.

My #1 still goes through it....breakfast is the worst. I figure they just aren't hungry. I'm not a big breakfast eater myself, so I don't worry too much if all they have is a glass of milk.

Pretty much. He does a lot of grazing but isn't allowed to collect food. He was getting a bad habit of taking a bite or two of something then wanting something else. We put a stop to that and he isn't allowed more than 2 or 3 items to graze on. He's allowed to get more when he eats all of those items.

I don't care if he doesn't eat. Food is offered. If he wants to be stubborn and not eat, that's his problem.

I have a world problem.

I put the tree up, it has three sections and 1/2 of the middle section lights do not work. ARGH!!!

I may let that tree set there and rot..

I got the lemon tree and lime tree in.

I also got the large hibiscus in.

That's all I have room for, in the foyer...after moving the foyer table out, and bringing the grow light down.

When you walk in our front door, you'd probably mistake our house, for a botanical garden.biggrin

Things will go back to normal, around the middle of March.wink

I love my plants.

I guess I'll just have to deal with it.smile

(Wayne likes the plants, too. I don't think he'll have a problem with it. We did something similar, last year.)

OMG get a light gun.  Walmart sells them, as do many places.  I heard people discussing these today.  They bypass the light that is bad and make all the others light up.

 Jesse isn't a morning eater.

I began keeping granola bars, packs of crackers, and apples around and he would keep something in his backpack.

Tomorrow I will check in the local stores for a light gun.

Thanks for the idea. smile

Finally! Work internet after the first week of no wifi. Only two more weeks at home without until I get the new internet hooked up.

*sigh* winter has started here and roads are sometimes undriveable. They are considering closing the bridges around the city and the lower mainland over parts of the next two days due to the potential freezing and snow-weight. The bridges all have high cables that are supporting them (or just to look pretty in some cases) and the snow and ice are piling up on them and then falling onto the bridge when it gets too heavy. 30 windshield crashes on just my commuter bridge alone. Literally, a chunk of ice falling from over 100ft in the sky and landing on a windshield while driving. Could you imagine?? 30 times in 1 day! The bridge on the other side of the city had it happen 10 times that same day.

Apparently we are in for a storm beginning tonight and lasting through the weekend, so people are already planning to use vacation days or flex time to avoid the commute. I have training happening over the next 4 days so wouldn't be driving anyways, but I have a 45minute commute that covers two bridges and is highway based the whole time. Ick.

However, without work, I won't have any internet!! (ok ... I'm not risking my life for internet. No matter how bored I get).

Vette, I wish I could help!

I'm really not a great gardener, by any stretch of the imagination.

I just bring the tropical plants in, before the first freeze.

Put a grow light on them.

Water them a couple of times a week.

And pray that they survive until Spring.wink

Maybe you could find some directions online about growing Dahlias.

Good luck!smile

oh wow! After marriage number 3 you would think gal number 4 would start to question things? Then again, it is very probable they dont know the whole story.  I am connected with all of my ex's and we are all friends and happy as pie. Except for one. He has serious issues. As in, I think he needs meds. He seems to like to woo a woman, be romantic, get married, then break up and go back to all the ex's to see who is still willing to hang around or who wants to go back to dating. I dated him a few times ages ago when I was a teen and early 20's, but I knew he had narcissistic tendencies so I never trusted him. He dated my girlfriend more recently then up out of nowhere said "I am getting married... to someone else" and she was gutted. Crushed. I was so mad at him. I hear he is going on his 5th marriage now. And other than his first marriage, all of these marriages have lasted only months. Some of these poor girls have come from very sheltered homes and dont know what is about to hit them. One was a virgin mormon and wound up leaving him after 3 months.  The guy seriously needs medication for his bipolar / split personalities! But what can you do?
