For everyone else here, I am excited because DS is on his way here right now! Two days earlier than I thought he would be, should be here by dinner time.

I do not envy those freezing temps.

Glad DS is on the way.

Half day for Aaron, Christmas break begins at 12:50!

Jesse and I are going to the store after dropping Aaron off.

I was going to wait until this afternoon but the weatherman was throwing the possibility of the "S" word around last night and I do not want in the throng of crazy later today.

Happy Friday, ya'll!

I'm irritated because it's pretty freezing here but we don't even have anything to show for it. Where is the snow???

Do I freeze and run errands or battle the snow.

This is where I am at Trudy. Do I do errands at lunch time, and relax tomorrow but it is so cold. We are only supposed to get a couple of inches but then freezing rain. I don't feel like venturing out in freezing rain and snow.

I already am longing for Spring!

Oh my, that's cold, IKWTDS!

We're heading for a high of 70 today.

73 tomorrow.

And the arctic blast will hit us around 5pm. tomorrow.

I think our high on Sunday will be about 32. But the wind chill is supposed to be nasty.

(Not as bad as what you poor folks are dealing with, but pretty cold for us.)

Stay warm and safe, everyone!

It was 21 at 6am, and it is still 21.

It's colder than penguin balls.

Groceries bought and mostly put away.

I'm thinking we may get some flurries.

Hope everyone stays warm!

Cold here, too. Not as bad as yesterday. 17 degrees yesterday with a horrible windchill and the boys were sent outside to play. Ugh. #1 has a sore throat now and a cold. DH "forgot" to dress them with a hat or turtleneck or even gloves. Really? #2 called him at work last night and asked him why. DH said he forgot. #2 asked if HE wore gloves. Yep. Damn man.

Anyway they are decked out for the weather today. #1 wanted to stay home until he realized there would be no video games, just resting and doing nothing. Suddenly he felt good enough to go. Funny how that works.

Ran to Michael's and picked up boxes for the fudge. Helped a nice old lady and she gave me a coupon. Very sweet. Made two batches and addressed Christmas cards. Need to stuff them now and stamp them and mail. Christmas is coming whether I'm ready or not, apparently.

Well, the railroad track I had planned for DS' party got rained out. It rained last night, looks like it will rain again today, and is forecasted to rain this weekend. Tis ok. Saves me some work. I'm still going to make trains for the kids to "ride" (aka push) but now they'll use them for Red Light, Green Light, Musical Trains, and other games.

Knee deep in party prep today but playing on the boards here and there.

I just got home after the white knuckled drive from hell.

When I left, it wasn't snowing. It didn't snow at HDD's home the entire time I was there. Thought I had beat the storm. I was an idiot.

Hit snow packed roads about 6 miles north of HDD's. Slowed me down to 45 mph in third gear, it was darn slick.

Anyway, I had to travel the hills, two of which are river hills, so they are steep. Made it down the first one and reached the top, when I saw a semi barreling down the center of the road at me. Judas frickin priest, he threw up a snow blind so huge, I didn't see the two vehicles he had already forced into the ditch or the two behind them! HE WAS PASSING FOUR VEHICLES AT ONCE! And then, he swerved to miss me!!! I was already heading for the ditch..

So, I've had my cardio check. I'm good.

This is why I am nervous about DS driving right now, storm moving in and I think he is in the path.  I am so done with white knuckle driving, I've lost my nerve.

Fudge for all!

We're expecting snow or some winter mix tonight into the the morning, but it will hit 60 by tomorrow so I'll just have to enjoy it while it lasts.

I said a prayer for safe travels for him. I know what it is to worry about our kids traveling in these storms.

I'm down to one nerve and it's pretty shaky.

my 45 minute commute took over 2 hrs this morning because people are stupid.

2 accidents on my bridge. None of them ice bombs either. Just stupid drivers. One accident blocked all 3 lanes and then once it was half cleared some dimwit went through and his wheel fell off. Blocking an entire lane. So, 3 lanes of traffic blocked and no off-ramp. Didn't matter though. The other two bridges were also blocked. One for ice bombs and one for another major accident.

People are idiots.

Snow collects on the cables holding the bridges up and then freezes and then gets heavy and falls a few stories onto the windshield of a car driving on the bridge.  Shatters the windshield while the driver is going highway speed.

Tig, are there alternate routes you can take, like tunnels? My DH lived in Ottawa for a while and said they had all these underground routes. Not sure exactly where you are....

Holy smokes! Colorado got DUMPED on last night! We went into church last night with nothing on the ground and no activity, saw a play, then left and there was a foot of snow on the ground with blizzard conditions! CRAZY!!! Alas, being Colorado tho, I am rather sure it will all be gone within 3 days.
