Rushing toward the New Year. Shopping, cooking, cleaning so that everything is ready on the 1st of January. The crowds at the supermarket are not to be believed. Lots of special dishes for the New Year season.
And a nice cold, north wind to make you step a little more lively than you normally would.

I feel guilty saying we didn't get much. Maybe half an inch over night and the main roads were clear. It's still snowing now, pretty big white puffy flakes.

I also feel a little guilty that I'm having an easy day (knocks on wooden desk). It's the last day of the month, which is usually crazy. But with my recent job move, I only have 3 invoices to complete. The person left in customer service is swamped, and I feel guilty for not helping her more. But if I pick up the slack, the higher ups will never realize she needs help. Sigh, I feel like I'm doing the right thing, but I still feel like a jerk about it.

Does she know why you're not helping? That might alleviate the guilt AND push her to push her superior to do something about it.

She's not worried about me not helping. She knows I have more than enough to do and doesn't even ask for help because of that. I usually offer when I have spare time. But I've realized A) I really don't have spare time and B) if I just keep doing it, no one is going to realize that she needs dedicated help.

I am going to go pick up lunch for her since she'll have no time to do that.

BIL finally went home. The house already feels lighter. We are just going to chill today, tomorrow will be spent getting the house back in order. Gs daughter will probably want to spend the day here...again...i will have to post in the break room about that situation..

Yippee, we are being let out at 1:30 and off Monday, practically a 4 day weekend. Tuesday will be brutal though, getting up at 5:30- 6 am and no more 4 day weekends for awhile.

I made turkey broth in the crockpot overnight and made creamy turkey tortellini soup for lunch. I loved the depth of flavor in the broth. I was pleasantly surprised by how much meat came off the bones. I picked the carcass pretty clean last night but after a night in the crockpot, there was plenty of meat left for the soup. So now I have an extra baggie of turkey in the freezer that I can use for something else. Woohoo!

I can't believe tomorrow is the last day of the year. Jeez 2016 flew by. Our friend G is coming over tomorrow to celebrate our Christmas then we'll settle in for the evening and watch the ball drop to welcome 2017.

DH went on-line and found a dishwasher for $100 - used
only 2-3 times. Retired military, his wife didn't like using
a machine to wash her dishes

He even had the
instruction manual to go with it.

When new renters cover over tomorrow, THEY can take
it out of the truck, and move it inside! They're young,
have 2 girls, 7 & 12, plus a dog & a cat. Sure do hope
they work out - we know his grandparents, so that bodes
well.

I hope everyone is ready for New Years! I went to the store today for greens and champagne.

And I booked a cruise today. I am super excited. We've been talking about doing a cruise for our 10 years anniversary and now we are! Next thanksgiving we will be in Mexico!

Now I need to get all of us passports. Husband hasn't ever had one and mine is way expired.

2017 will definitely be better than 2016!

How exciting! Check your passport. If it's been issued within the last 15 years, it is still eligible for renewal.

How exciting! Check your passport. If it's been issued within the last 15 years, it is still eligible for renewal.

Thanks! Brought wine and cookies over! She is doing well but needs surgery next month. I told her not to hesitate to ask for help. She has a hard time asking for help.

Sad news from California. The first Corgi, Sutter Brown, has passed away. He and my corgi are (were?) the same age, 13. So of course I'm sitting here bawling and making sure Corgi is still breathing.
